This will be a quick post. I hope Anet decision-makers see this!!
So when I found out about mounts, I was very excited and knew a lot of people would be too, and experiencing the first one in demo was very cool (I love the way it slides sideways to a stop). I just reeeeeeally really hope that there will be more options for mounts in the future…like perhaps skins either sold in the gem store or for gold from a merchant (aka animal breeder lol). I for one profusely adamantly desire a Dire Fern Wolf mount for my Sylvari ranger/druid/soulbeast. It could easily take the spot (as a skin) of the elemental wolf. Or I mean if Anet wants it to have a separate ability like being able to grapple to far reaches with vines then that’s cool too, but I don’t feel it is necessary and I think the abilities the company chose are already super great…I just dearly want a leafy animal to go with my leafy character. Also the White Stag from my personal storyline would be wondrous & magical to reconnect with as a mount.
Then when I was trying out the soulbeast specialization in demo, I was really excited about the various new animals (except the worm)…but now I have no idea how to choose JUST TWO pets on land because I love my original fern wolf, raven, and occasional bristleback and moa (which btw would also make a superbly perfect mount like a Final Fantasy chocobo! helloooo), and I also absolutely adore the cheetah, sand lion, rock gazelle, and jacaranda! Such sad dilemmas. But anywhoooo…..I realized that NONE of them are allowed under water!!! What the heck is up with this? Just because we don’t go under water that much does not mean I don’t care about looking cool or having an awesome pet while swimming!! I think this could be easily fixed/tweaked…I hope… And speaking of such alterations, I noticed that most of the wild cats are duel-purposed land/water creatures in the game, so why aren’t the new felines? And also why isn’t the fern hound water-proof/ocean-fighting/equippable? To me, frankly, it actually would make more sense for the fern hound (being a plant and a dog which both love water…plus my sylvari can swim which proves no better point) to swim. Plus, this way I can at least have 4 of my 8 favorites because I could spread them out & save 2 for water and 2 for land, …instead of only being able to have 2 of my 8 beloveds for land and 2 I dislike & could care less about for water (‘cause to be honest, I don’t like any of the current water ones…at all…no offense).
I’d be jumping with glee if these two requests are taken into account and brought to fruition xD
