If GW2 suddenly became real life....
I would have a greater fear of spiders…
I’d be cooking mostly. And watching closely to see how well respawning worked out for other people.
And maybe sucking up to Evon Gnashblade…
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
-If I could not choose Tengu, I would be found shot and killed for harassing Tengu and trying to break into the Dominion of Winds within a week.
-I’m not sure what profession I’d choose.
-I would spend my days pruning my feathers and being the prettiest Tengu I could be, and then I would wonder when my race would join the fight against the Elder Dragons.

Id be dead because I DC’d from my body.
Race… not sure. Would go Sylvari, but only if the games rules still apply (like in the anime Log Horizon) : Players dun get corrupted by le evil dragon. Profession – Necromancer, no questions asked. As for what to do… again it depends on how the rules in said reality work. Do they work like in Log Horizon?`Then I’ll be off exploring and fighting monsters and bandits. No need to worry about memory-loss, either because in GW2 you do not lose experiance when dying but your armor gets damaged. Do they work like in SAO? I would propably stay around areas where i know there won’t be a random elite/champion / world boss appearing and hunt monsters and animals for food and mats n’ stuff.
Well, idk. Can I still do key runs?
ANet may give it to you.
I’d probably be dead within the first five minutes. Its a harsh world!
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
An Asuran shopkeeper, in Rata Sum, as far away from danger as possible.
I’d probably be dead within the first five minutes. Its a harsh world!
Pretty much this. Many worlds in gaming would not be a nice place to live in.
I’d probably be dead within the first five minutes. Its a harsh world!
But then I would just have to resurrect you

I think the worst thing about if you were to be stuck in gw2 would be getting rubbed back to life by a bunch of people….

Well, thank you. But then you’d have to find me when I’m buried beneath Svanir footprints in the snow, or my pieces after being hacked apart by centaurs, or in the stomachs of krait. I’d have have to tip you for the revive
If the Inquest wanted to turn me into some sort of super cyborg golem (without the usual issues) then you could just leave me where I was.

LOLOLOLOL I never thought about that part.
But yes going by game rules you could still key farm.
You could be revived.
And pretty much everything else in game.

I’m assuming we’re going by Log Horizon rules cuz I’m not a fan of SAO. As for what race/profession I’d be, if I had to pick one I have to go with my main toon, a Norn Guardian, but ideally I’d like to be able to play as my alts too, either by switching between them or having them all exist simultaneously
I’d probably be doing jail time for going on to other people’s property to, “harvest,” their crops.
I’d stand in Lion’s Arch dancing in my underwear and spamming my mad skills. I already do that it real life so the transition would be an easy one to make.
I’d put an giant gold “!” over my head and watch all hell break loose.
Human because Sylvari are minions, charr are dirty beasts, Holbrek is too cold, and aura will be killed by the golems some day. If sylvari weren’t minions, I would have considered.
Ranger because they are practically immortal in open world pve with a Longview, and I like the feel of their greatsword the best. Pet would probably be birds just because they are unobtrusive.
Blue Dorito-S/Re|Transitor-S/En |Tina Feyspirit-N/M|
Bmoe-A/T|Peter Whatsherface-H/G|Acolyte Rin-H/N
I’d probably go with my necro charr. In which case, if i started behaving like him, I’d probably have few to no friends….but plenty of corpses….
Many…many….corpses….
Its best this doesn’t happen >.>
id be super pretty and rich!
I would camp the trading post guy laying in wait for anyone who studied economy and thinks he can suddenly make bank for real now and show them the disadvantage of investment strategies compared to GREATSWORD TO THE FACE.
Mesmer seems like it would be insanely fun/interesting in real life. And I’d be torn between charr and asura.
When the game started, I had a character with my real name that looked like me in real life and I RPed myself being transported to Tyria.
It was a lot of fun.
I’d be a human necromancer and keep to myself. Possibly robbing travelers as they pass by. As for the dragons, not my job. Let other people die fighting them. Seeing the Mordrem up close in real life would be some scary stuff.
Oh man, if GW2 was suddenly real life…
The first thing that comes to mind is that I’d finally be able to stop being single :P

Of course you would probably end up in a relationship with a guy dressed as woman and pretending to be a woman.
If Guild Wars 2 came to life, makeover kits would be available in the retail stores for $10, instead of seeing a doctor and undergoing surgery. With one kit you could change your face, sex, hair, height, and get rid of that pot belly. With a name change kit, you can change out your name.
Leave your house in the morning as a balding, middle aged man and come back 15 minutes later as an anorexic, teenaged female with very short skirts.
Drivers Licenses would be a hopeless mess.
ANet may give it to you.
Sylvari would be fun but I’d like to know exactly how long their lifespan is. :P
Thief class so I can survive the hellish world by hiding in stealth all the time and since reality has so many more options I’d have easy access to scissors to trim my armor with.
I would be very unhappy if this happened. Because Tyria has no toilets, showers, or running water. It doesn’t even have bathrooms. I need my long hot shower every morning!
(OK, maybe it has those things but they just don’t show in the game world. But the only references are old LA talking about letting it all flow into sewers that drain into the bay, and the occasional sewer grate in DR).
Plus I am a frail weak person. I would hope I was happily ensconced in the safety of DR’s noble district, with servants and stuff, but if I just woke up in Tyria as me, well, I can’t read New Krytan — another nightmare, one of my greatest illogical fears being suddenly unable to read — and I would probably quickly be a homeless beggar murdered for her clothes.
I generally opine that come the Apocalypse, be it zombies or nuclear destruction or planes falling from the sky because combustion no longer works well enough to make engines and guns work (see SM Stirling’s novels of the Change), well, you know those millions dead the first day or two? I’ll be one of those, not a plucky survivor. I don’t want to live in a non-tech anarchic world anyway. Hopefully I’ll die before I know the world as I know it has ended.
Now, if I get to wake up in Tyria as one of my alts, hmmmmm …. a few of them could be fun to be and they have lots of friends. I’d pick my human necro but she has a super bad back. My human mesmer, maybe, she’s rich and competent, though not terribly experienced at combat. And she does a lot of accounting … ick. My other alts tend to have life issues, or they’re male and I’m not sure I’d want to live in a male body.
Please don’t toss me into Tyria, I guess I’m saying. I like the life I have
All those sexy ladies…. LOL
I guess I am a combat engineer back in the military again welp
I would definitely want to be my main, a female sylvari thief. I would have a lot of fun with Stealth, Steal, and Shadowstep. It would be awesome to be so lithe and athletic. I would also enjoy meeting all of the NPCs in person, and I would want to become good friends with Caithe.
I would assume the OP is implying Log Horizon rules, so it’s a good thing my main happens to have 400 in cooking.
ooh, and I would love to be part of the Order of Whispers.
The moment ANYTHING attacks my village, I’ll move.
“I swear, when are the seraphs going to do something about those centaurs? This is the 12th time they’ve attack Nebo Terrace this week!”

You mean, 12th time this day, don’t you. :P

I would probably go with what I have for my main: a charr engineer.
The sheer physical strength of the charr would go a long way to ensuring survival in the brutal world of Tyria, although I would likely spend most of my time building things and showing the Charr and Asura what can be done with the technology they have (i.e. ranged weapons that can shoot more than 50 feet, vehicles, etc).
Then I would work to get all the warriors of the various races to coordinate (seriously, if an epic final world boss can be defeated by 100 or so players with the pitifully short ranged weapons currently in the game, imagine what could be accomplished by several thousand soldiers with modern weaponry, possibly imbued with magic for those foes that are supposedly immune to physical damage).
Once the various issues with the world are sorted out (wiped out undead, dredge, centaurs, branded, etc), I would try to coordinate with others to rebuild Tyria and upgrade the infrastructure to be more in line with modern standards and try to usher in a golden age for Tyria.
Or the races could get bored and decide to start fighting each other since there aren’t external threats to unify them anymore, in which case I would build my own airship and head for parts unknown and explore the rest of the world.
I’d probably go with being my Sylvari mesmer main. http://imgur.com/xhQoIAG
Sylvari, because bioluminescence is cool, and I would never have to go clothes shopping again. And the whole being ageless is a huge plus.
Mesmer, because that would just have so many practical applications!
As for what I’d do, I’d probably hit up the order of whispers and teach them how to do the secret part of the whole secret society thing.
(edited by Roda.7468)
I would be a human…anything. It doesn’t matter because I’d never leave DR. Between the centaurs and 10 foot scorpion monsters and the literally everything else that wants to kill me, I’d just pick a spot at one of the bars, maybe cook a little to support my alcoholism (because I’d need to be drunk to forget what’s out there) and live out the rest of my days. It’s not an adventurous life, but it’s a long one. Unless GW2 ever added a “liver disease” condition.
I’d probably be dead within the first five minutes. Its a harsh world!
But then I would just have to resurrect you
I think the worst thing about if you were to be stuck in gw2 would be getting rubbed back to life by a bunch of people….
Even worse, a ranger could order their bear to sit on your face to rez you.
I would be a human thief and wait for key runners to finish their runs and then steal keys… I’d be the richest thief of all time!!!
If GW2 becomes reality, sadly Tyria would probably be filled with mostly dudes. Unless, you guys really want to live your life out as a girls.

Y U ruin my dreams man…
Me being the only dude in the city sound amusing. LOL
since your race/height/physique doesnt mean you are stronger than the other guy…
-male human
-necromancer
-would spend time playing with my minions since nobody would want me as a friend…
-would scare the hell out of little kids during halloween
-If we do consider racial physique and lore i would be asura…superior intelect ftw
-A asura necromancer ofc
Human ranger, or Norn ranger. Can you imagine exploring the world and going on adventures with a jaguar or some massive drake at your side? I know I would be a whole lot less worried about getting mobbed by bandits if I had a fire breathing giant lizard with me.
Sylvari, fo sho. not sure what class, it all depends on how the game rules apply to “real life” as it were… and i’d probably be one of those people in the grove that hangs around. not sure what i’d do to pass the time, but i know for sure that the fighting life isn’t the life for me.
If I could create myself in this mystical Tyria… I’d gender change immediately, be a lot younger and a human engineer. And then I would invent mounts so I could make a bleeding MINT off those who want them.
If I was as I am now, I’d still be a spergy village idiot lucky not to be killed by my own shoelaces.
Oh, and the ‘die and reset’ concept. If any of you guys have not read Crushed! The Doomed Kitty, go and read NOW. It is funny as hell.
We’ve had this thread before! And not so long ago, either, but it’s always fun to see it in another guise.
Were the world to go all Tyria, I’d end up a civilian, regardless of what I’d actually like. On a similar vein, despite the fact I’d love to be sylvari in the Grove in this hypothesis, RNG hates me that much I’d likely end up being a norn in Hoelbrak.
Wherever and whatever I was, I would bake cupcakes with differing benefits for the casual and not-so-casual adventurer. I’d probably expand into other baked goods as the business grows, and I’d be open for hiring others. I can be booked for weddings, parties, victory celebrations, and so on.
I would have a greater fear of spiders…
I, too, would find this problematic.
Chose Mesmer.
Lore wise Mesmers are scary. Every conversation with one is a mind game. Before you know it they have wormed their way into your mind and can do as they please with you.
Need a body guard? I’ll just suggest that you should protect me, after all wouldn’t it be great to show everyone your latest modification to your turrets and rifle?
A few copper short for an inn room? Its on the house.
Find yourself engaged in casual conversation and begin to have a panic attack? HIT THE DECKS, MASS INVISIBILITY I AM OUTTA HERE GOODBYE NERDS.
Race wont matter, I’ll glamor myself to fit in best where It is needed. Better yet I’ll just make myself invisible all the time until I get over that whole social anxiety thing. uh.. Perhaps Thief would have been a better choice..
I’d enjoy the first time around, then slowly come to realize, I could only get “So far” in life, because of a horizontal progression in life. Attempt to commit suicide, only to spawn at a waypoint.
In short, it would be a living hell.
Of course, no disrespect to the game or anything, just calling it as I see it.
Only Better…

Let’s throw in fantasy genders to liven things up. I won’t say the names since transgenders take offense to them, but there is more than just male and female out there.
