I got the backpiece from southsun and I like the look of it. If I transmute it to my current backpiece and in the future ascend that will I keep the look of it or will it go to its original look?

Another question:

If i transmuted my non infused Fractal Capacitor to Mad Memories, will i still be able to infuse it?

Afaik, you won’t be able to infuse it if you transmute it.

This is correct. If you transmute something, you are creating a new item and it will not be accepted in any Mystic Forge recipes.
