If you post on the forum, you get SPAM
In the BWE forums, there was a bit at the top to “Select a Character”, but it never worked, I don’t know if they’re still working on it, but it looks like it’s been removed.
this problem would be fixed easy if they ban spammers with serious proof of repetitive gold selling messages (it’s even illegal to sell gold for money) …i keep reporting them because that can help
I post on the forums often and I think I got 1 mail spam this week. Maybe they just like you.
Yeah, get them all the time my self. Every day I post on the forums = 2-3 spam mail.
Well I’ll be sure to post every day then… I can take the time to report 2-3 spams when I log in. Actually though I think I get the spam after I talk in map chat or do crafting in LA.
I spent a couple days out in the wilderness getting map completion in Harathi (and some cherries/almonds in bulk), and was spam free. I head back into LA to discover some recipes with the stuff I gathered, and had a couple spam mails waiting for me the next time I logged in.
He might start thinking he knows what’s right for you.

I think map chat is where the bots harvest names, as the 3 GW2 players in my family receive spam mails at rates according to how often we use /m.
Something that occurred to me, however, is that selecting “block” might be putting me on some mail-lists.
If someone puts you on their block list, do you get a message?
I haven’t been getting spam lately, and I’ve been posting more than usual.
Actually, I hadn’t got any spam mails for the last few days, until I got one last night. I post almost every day.
I always report, then delete the mail.
I got no spam related to the forums at all…
I got like 3 spam mails overall and all of them while i was ingame.
I’ve been getting them before I posted on the forums.
They can always just /friend you and see your account ID too.

Thanks for your concerns. We are currently working on a solution for the spamming and will keep you updated. Please, keep on reporting as soon as you see examples of botting/spamming.
