Hello, welcome. The first thing I would do is post in the Players Helping Players forum:

Next I would check out the game wiki:

Finally when you create a character you can look for a guild in the game chat. Many guilds also will advertise in chat and you can respond to that and join.

These are three great ways of getting to know the game. But in general the game is pretty easy to just jump in and play. Have fun!

My advice to you is dodge! Press “V” on your keyboard or whatever you want to change it to on the “Options” Menu. If you learn how to dodge you can easily defeat enemies higher level than you (not too high though).

I would suggest you find posts by DreamyAbbadon (I may have spelled that wrong). I’m surprised he hasn’t already pounced and offered you aid! He regularly does so along with a Skype name so he can talk you through stuff in game. Best of luck to you, may you find a long time of enjoyment in Tyria.
