Impact of Fractals on other game aspects.
They are already in progress of fixing this, or so they say.
We’ll just wait and see what happens in the near future.
As the title says, since the release of a progression system and fractals, the mass majority of players are no consistently relocating to Lion’s Arch and doing nothing but standing around for fractal groups.
The entire rest of the world, namely new players that are attempting to level are suffering immensely because of the impact fractals are having on the game.
Leveling zones are dead, events barely trigger nor have enough players to complete them. The entire structure of the game is based around a large blanket playerbase that is suppose to cooperate to complete events and help each other out.
The introduction of fractals and the mass migration of players towards the new ascended gear ladder and infinite dungeon has had a detrimental impact on the rest of the world, since players at 80 now have little incentive to go back and do zones (aside from map completion). Instead they spend all of their time in fractal groups chasing the infinite chain.
I noticed these problems after rolling a new ranger and found many of the early human zones devoid of people or helping hands regarding events.
While I don’t think that the fractals themselves are a bad idea, in fact they are an excellent idea. However, herding the entire player based into ONE instanced location in a game that thrives off an evenly distributed playerbase for events is very detrimental to the overall health of the game.
This is namely geared towards new players who may find it difficult to find roamers and other players to assist them due to everyone being in the infinite dungeon.
Rewards, incentive, and other factors that are associated with events and open world need to be looked at in order to stop the large majority from doing nothing but remaining isolated in the new dungeon and not helping anyone else due to progression desires.
Zones outside of fractals need to remain evenly populated so new players will have a chance to trigger events and complete them.
They are already in progress of fixing this, or so they say.
We’ll just wait and see what happens in the near future.
