So I just logged in and started working on some of my daily quests out in Malchor’s with my mesmer.

Normally I don’t have any problem soloing vets, so I was a bit surprised at the results of going 1v1 vs. a Veteran Risen Shark.

He could 1 shot me first time, everytime. His opening attack seems to go right through dodging and burned through my admittedly-not-beefy 15k hp. I couldn’t believe it the first time so I tested my luck a few more times, with the same result. Furthermore the hit-box for it is staggeringly large.

Now I’ve come to expect a certain amount of one-hit-kill chicanery from Champion level mobs, but this is totally outrageous for a Veteran.

Are there other mobs like this I should avoid?

Yep, that. Risen sharks seem to all be on Champion level by default. Avoid them

Risen Sharks are just plain ridiculous – their charge attack hits you before they’re anywhere close, and then you have a ton of bleeds going on while also being stunned. Just avoid them.

Agree sharks are op and underwater is weak for most of the classes (except warriors ofc they can roflstomp anyone with the tsunami attack)
