I think the Daily Reward System needs an improvement. In its current state it is barely anythign else, than what we already had before of the change, when we did a daily achievement, when we had already done some, that those after the initial 4-5 rewarded us after that then with just Exp and Karma.

Thats exactly what be get now too, just only in Item Form and I think this is absolutely hardly an improvement at all over the old system by just itemizing the Exp and Karma, so that we became able now just only to give it basically to new characters…
but the rest of these daily rewards are feelign really underwhelming except a few of them.

So here is a suggestion what I would change based on the Daily:

Chest of Lumber/Miner/Plants: The Rewards here should change based on the Level of the Character, which opens the Chest

Level 1-10 = 5-10 of Tier 1 Materials
Level 11-20 = 5-10 Tier 2 Materials
Level 21-30 = 5-10 Tier 3 Materials
Lvl 31-40 = 5-10 Tier 4 Materials
Lvl 41-50 = 5-10 Tier 5 Materials
Lvl 51-60 = 1-3 Tier 6 Materials
Lvl 61-70 = 2-5 Tier 6 Materials
Lvl 71-80 = 3-8 Tier 6 Materials + a random other Material like Lodestone, Giant Eye, Dark Matter, Elonian Leather, Bolt of Damask ect.

This way doing these Gatherer Dailies will feel actually really rewarding and something, that you actually want to do, because it actually really would help you on your path to work on your Ascedned Equipment or Legendary Weapon a bit

Chest of Monstrous Goods
Completely change out the Rewards here from not needed Dragonite Ore, 2 Exp Boosts and a random rare Weapon to the following 3 things:

  • Instead of the 2 Exp Boosts, make it 1 Tome that instantly boosts a Character Level Up by +1
  • Instead of the Rare Item, make it 3 Globs of Ectoplasm
  • 1 Monster Hunter Token (can be used to trade for things, which World Bosses could drop, like the Sunless Weapons, like the Jormag Collection Starter Item, like Jormags Breath/Claw, or ascended Weapon/Armor Chests (for alot of MFT, like 250 or so) and so on, so that people can buy these things with MHT and we become finally more independent from that silly unfair way too low RNG drop rates, which reward some luckers permanently with good stuff and most others after hundreds and thousands of tries not a single valuable thing at all…)

Put in Towns some Monster Hunter NPC’s, with an own icon on the Map at which players can trade those Tokens then for various goods from World Bosses

Chest of the Crafter

  • Instead of the 2 Exp Boosts, replace them with 2 Crafting EXP Boost so that you get Boosts here, that actually help you to get quicker your Crafting Jobs to 500 by those boosts, that instantly boost your Crafting Job Level up by +1 each.
    That would make these Items also valuable for Alternative Characters and for the very cost intensive high job levels short before 400 to 500
    Would be also awesome, if we would have an option to exchange those CEXP Boosters, that increase temporarely CEXP by +50% for an hour into direct Job Level UP Boosts like 1 CEXP Booster can be exchanged into a direct +5 C-Level Boost Item.

Chest of the Hero Exotic as like Rare
Change their Reward completely, simple karma Containers and these Exp boosts are totally unrewarding things and not something, for what I’d do those Dailies for.
Change the Rewards to:

  • Large Money Bags Exotic (Contains randomly 10-50Silver)
  • Money Bags Rare (Contains randomly 5-25 Silver)
  • Chance at Getting a some Minipets, that you can get only from these Chests
  • Chance at getting Weapon Skins that you can get only from these Chests
  • Chance at getting Black Lion Ticket Scraps
  • Chance at getting Black Lion Keys
  • Rare Chance at getting a Gem Bag (Contains randomly 100-400 Gems) (Exotic only)

That way are those Chests rewarding and people would actually want to do what is required to do to get these Chests

Chests of the Mists are ok

Chests of the Mystic

  • Increase the Coints from 1 to 3
  • Replace the Writh of Exp with a Mystic Clover!!
  • Implement also an Exotic Version, that rewards with more mystic clovers than 1 and rewards additionally with Globs of Ectoplasm or Obsidian Shards by Random.

Chests of the Mist

  • Improve the Chest of Knowledge by letting it reward us with a WvW Rank Up instead of the 2 little drops of WEXP

For Login Rewards, I think the 28 Items are too much repeating and the board should get changed to provide 4 different versions based on if the month has 28,29 (Leapyear February),30 or 31 days so that the board actually fits to each month exactly.

Here an example for a better 28 day February Login Reward Board that doesn’t repeat so much rewards:

1) Bag of Mystic Coins = 5 MC
2) Bag of Laurels = 5 Laurels
3) Bag of Luck = +1% MF Increase
4) Bag of BL Goods = Choose 1 BL Item of given Options
5) Bag of Materials = 5 random Craftign Materials per Tier based on the Character Level, who opens it
6) Bag of Experience = 2 Tomes of Knowledge
7) Bag of Mystics = 3 Mystic Clovers
8) Bag of Transmutation Charges = 3 Transmutation Charges
9) Bag of Rare Materials = 2 Lodestones, or 2 Giant Eyes, or 2 Quarged Quartz Crystals or 5 Pristine Spore Samples or 5 Large Skulls (Random)
10) Bag of Gold = 2 Gold
11) Bag of the Mists = 1 of each Mist Essence Tiers
12) Bag of the Runologist = 1 Random Exotic Rune
13) Bag of the Typograph = 1 Random Exotic Sigil
14) Bag of the Adventurer = 1 Random Exotic Gemstone
15) Bag of the Weapon Smith = 1 random Exotic Weapon
16) Bag of the Armor Smith = 1 random Exotic Armor Piece
17) Bag of the Relic Hunter = 1 random exotic Accessoire
18) Bag of the Sous-Chef = Some random Level Based Buff Foods + a +5 Crafting Job Level Boost
19) Bag of the Alchemist = Some random Level based Buff Potions + a + Crafting EXP Booster
20) Chest of Fate = 1 Lesser Vision Crystal, 3 Tomes of Knowledge, 10 Laurels, 5 MC, 1 random BL Item of given Options, 1 Refined Ascended Crafting Item of each Type

22) Bag of Dungeons = +300 Dungeon Tokens of your Choice

On a Leapyear February, Chest 29 becomes the Chest of Loyalty, Chest 28 is then a Bag of Time = 1 Utility Primer + 1 Metabolic Primer

In a 30 day Month, Chest of Loyalty is Chest 30
Chest 28 is then a Bag of Time, Chest 29 then a Bag of Ascension = Gives 1-2 random Refined Ascended Materials.

In a 31 day Month, Chest of Loyalty is Chest 31
Chest 28 is then a bag of Time, Chest 29 then a Bag of ascension and Chest 30 is then a Chest of Wealth = 5 Gold, +Karma Gain +1%, 2 Tomes of Knowledge, 1 random exotic equipment item and 2 Crafting Job Level Boosts.

Nothing in this game is mandatory
But at its current state, those Dailys are worthless mostly as they absolutely don’t really motivate people to do something just to get those “Rewards”, because you could also get it by doing simply a random dynamic event that you just run by somewhere, which rewards you then in the most cases with exactly the same stuff, that you’d get out of the daily rewards – just plain Exp and a bit of Karma up to a few exceptions.

I’m not sure why we should get even better rewards than they are now giving us, just for logging in. As for the Daily Achievement tasks, maybe some different rewards, but we are already getting much more than before, which was nothing. I think the Devs are being quite generous, considering. It’s not like the tasks are difficult.

I think the daily system was more intended as a guideline for newer players towards content that they can do on a daily basis, not as a reward farm for veterans.

And the whole monthly cycle you just posted is irrelevant. It doesnt matter what month it is because the 28 daily login rewards dont reset after one month is over.
You can log in 7 times every month for 4 months and get the 28 rewards.

I’m not sure why we should get even better rewards than they are now giving us, just for logging in.

Would you log into the game for a few Mystic Coins?
Would you log into the game for Low Tier Crafting Materials, that are of mostly no use for you?

All i did mostly here was just only increasign significantly the variation in the rewards, because currently the login rewards basically repeat themself each week and become just only from week to week better.

I find it would be alot nicer, if we would get alot more variation over the weeks, cause the game has alot more of reward variation to offer, than just only mystic coins, luck, laurels, crafting materials and tomes of knowledge ad nauseum.

I reduced just only siginificantly the repeatigns of the same typ of “rewards” and replaced it with alot more variation.

PS: Oh yeah, I forgot that reset stuff about the login rewards, yeah, in this case, the different versions sure aren#t needed, my fault for not thinking about that.
Still , a bit more varion there, that could get mixed into the 28 day board.

Yes, I would, and have been for over 2 years. I now receive even better rewards for doing something I would do, anyway…why would I need even better rewards. I log in because I enjoy playing the game, not for some virtual reward. What good are rewards if you would not play the game, anyway? Lol, I, personally, would not see the point of filling my bank with ‘goodies’ I would never use because I don’t enjoy playing the game.

But, that’s just me. /shrug

Sure, I also just log in to have fun in the game in first place, the login reward is just the automatic free gift that doesn’t decide over it, if I login now, or not.

However, my main point of this thread was it anyways just to show, that there is alot more variation possible and that I personally would love to see under the login rewards just more variation, thats all.
Its no must, but it would be very nice if Anet could give the board a bit more variation.

Someone hasn’t been paying attention to well I take it. Yesterdays (Dec 23rd) log-ing reward was 4 Mystic Coins, the day before, the Bag of Laurels = 10 Laurels. So far they have been progressing the amount in the bags.

As for the Dailies, on the logging, mining and harvesting, you get a mix of T1 – T6 out of each box, in any combination of 3 – 5 different types of material. Variety instead of set-in-stone items, and I’ve gotten a Lodestone or something else out of those as well, but they are rare, as they should be. As for the Karma/Exp boosters, well, that Karma are a fixed amount, the Exp booster varies depending on the level of the character, 635 exp for my lvl 23, ~12,000 exp for level 80.

P.S. – The ‘NEW’ Log-in rewards are the ‘OLD’ Daily rewards just moved to a new location, why would they change what you used to get for the ‘OLD’ Dailies.

This if nothing else..I love this idea. Maybe not the ascended weapon/armor chests, but definately for the boss specific drops like Sam, Pendant of Arah, etc. Make them account bound on acquire from this source so the market doesn’t suffer, but all boss specific items (Sunless chests included) should have something like this in place.

+1000 for this idea.

It’s not happening. Not now. Not ever.

These are rewards for logging in. But they’re progressive. You need to get through step 1 to get to step 2. The rewards get better as you go.

People will log in or they won’t get to the better rewards at the end.

The rewards don’t repeat…they escalate.
