In regards to
“In the open world, dungeons, PvP, and WvW, the new effects-culling system will slowly start reducing the detail of each effect in order to increase combat visibility when many effect types are overlapping.”

It seems almost worst to right now. Last night during the event. I could not see any of the monsters nor players. All I could see was the tag of the commanders head, the tag of the champion and magic and explosion effects. This morning was better I could see players and mobs until magic and explosion went off then players started to disappear.

I have yet to see the chest that drops from killing the champion also. I kinda run to the location on the mini map spamming my f key.

Colin – “We did indeed! We believe this actually has nothing to do with FX Culling (which primarily just reduces how busy effects are and drops them to less busy versions of the same effect to prevent soup.) This looks to be something else related to engine optimizations for some mid/low end machines. We’re looking into the issue and should have a fix out soon.”

Colin said it’s a mid/low end system problem… I have a high end PC. I get about 20-30FPS in the new pavillion area. I normally sit at a solid 60FPS with vsync on. Still can’t see bosses and read when they’re about to use a big ability. Keep working fellas!
