I keep reading on Reddit about the fact that in early beta weekends of GW2 the game had smarter AI, would kite and avoid aoe, that were removed for making the game too hard. Now that everyone has adjusted to the game and encounters are getting easier due to the prevalence of stacking, is there a reason that it’s not been re added to the game? I’d really appreciate an official answer to this because it seems like such a good idea in principle and I’d be interested in what has influenced the decision to keep it out.

From what I heard, the problem with mobs running from AoEs is because GW2 is so full of AoEs that mobs would end up running from them all fight instead of mounting counter attacks. If they wanted to bring them back, they’d have to give the mobs the capacity to kite.
