Since the suggestions forums are now archived and we’re supposed to make suggestions in the related forums, here goes nothing:

The royal terrace is supposed to add major convenience at a price. However, it’s not as convenient as several others have found out (you can see things posted in the suggestion archives).

Here’s a list of things that multiple people have suggested they’d like to see (and yes, one of them is from me):

  1. Not getting kicked out when logging out or switching characters
  2. Dungeon teleporter and token collectors (including fotm entrance)
  3. Trait retrainer
  4. Black lion weapons trader
  5. Not getting kicked out when logging out or switching characters
  6. Activity NPCs
  7. Karma vendors
  8. Festival item vendor
  9. NPC vendors unique to seasonal events
  10. Access to the orders of tyra’s HQ
  11. Not getting kicked out when logging out or switching characters
  12. Account upgrade option for alt heavy players (preferably a UI button instead of having to open the inventory to double click-remember, a luxury convenience item should be all about the convenience)

I don’t understand the ‘not getting kicked out when switching characters’. Are you suggesting that the pass works for any character on an account, whether in said characters’ possession, or not?

That seems a bit much, to me. And, if that is what you are suggesting, then I’m guessing you want the same ‘convenience’ for Salvage-O-Matic, Unlimited Crafting Tools…anything account-bound.

That seems a bit much, to me. And, if that is what you are suggesting, then I’m guessing you want the same ‘convenience’ for Salvage-O-Matic, Unlimited Crafting Tools…anything account-bound.

Currently, if you are inside the royal terrace and you logout or switch to another character then switch back to the character that was inside the terrace (even with the royal pass in the inventory), said character will be forced out of the place. You have to double click the pass to reenter.

What has been suggested (not only by me) is that the character that holds the royal pass in the inventory shouldn’t be kicked out if you log out of your account or switch characters and switch back.

Also, note that the only suggestion that I actually made was #2, adding a dungeon teleporter and dungeon token collector. Other players suggested the ability to pay for an upgrade to be account wide and I merely listed it.

Improvement for royal terrace

  • Scratch the royal terrace
  • Re-make feature as unlockable progression items for your home instance (horizontal progression)
  • Example unlocks:
    – Do some activity to get craftsmen to move into your home instance → unlocks crafting stations
    – Some other activity to get traders in → unlocks bank+trader
    – Some activity to unlock new weapon for class/trait/etc. → trainer moves in
    – Some activity to fix a broken Asura portal or other thingy → get your instant teleport to home instance (sort of like the PvP enter/leave mists)

Depending on how well-equipped your home instance is, you’ll attract your friends/guildies to come with you in group because you have so many facilities available, so you’ll manage to make your home instance into a sort of housing feature.

And while we’re on that; qualify home instance for further decorations by getting the option to display trophies based on achievements, armor models/mannequins, skin locker/display room, mini menagerie, etc.

The royal terrace is simply a gold/gem-sink at the moment, make it worthwhile for players by moving the features into our “home” so we can achieve it through progression of some sort rather than digging into our pockets, yet again.

i would be very happy and i think many others would be if they would make the Royal Terrace instanced like Hall of Monuments, so the loading times are cut down, and when you leave it to be sent back at the original point where you used it, just like leaving wvw and HoM.

and the fact that it is instanced would give players with slower pc-s a boost, i don’t see why should we load divinity just for that little place, and if you want to get into divinity make the current gates exits from the instance into divinity.

solving the multiple characters in the terrace problem ,make an npc that gives you account bound, entrance scrolls that do not brake so we can put 1 on each character.
exactly like the HoM stones.

I see the stability issues are still there. Sad. Why haven’t these bugs been fixed yet? Shouldn’t bugs be the priority in any game title development?

another find concerning the subject is that it doesn’t work while in the PVP lobby or in Hall of Monuments.
though not ground breaking it’s worth mentioning.

I don’t see much benefit at all in paying for what this area offers as in my recollection there are plenty areas with the same facilities in an area that may be a little bigger but costs nothing! Its a bit like in real life taking a bus to get to the shops quarter of a mile away or walking. One may be more convenient but the cost isn’t worth it unless you are mega rich and its only pennies to you.

I use forums to give my opinions but I mostly avoid discussing over
them due to those less than polite individuals out there and their offensive attitude.

The trading post and guild banker should be right next to each other so that both can be open at the same time.

Also you should be zoned in right next to the trading post/bank/guild bankers. These are the NPCs you’ll be using 98% of the time, walking up the staircase past is needless busywork.
