Guild Wars 2

Hi, I’m new to Guild Wars 2 and this is my first post.

I looked for similar posts but I got nothing and was actually surprised this wasn’t brought up earlier.

I think the in game mailing system is sort of chaotic, having a cap on the max mail you get and the fact that the mails are locked in the order that you receive them.
And then there is that mail that is story sensitive which have bits of lore in them, but as I’m playing, sometimes there isn’t time and/or patience to read them as they come. There is even the Dungeons Story Mode witch have a mail introducing to the plot behind it. I get the feeling that they should be synced to the Personal Story, but they are synced to the leveling, so there will be a mixture of story mail with dungeon mail and friends mail.

I can see a possible solution to this and I don’t think that much work is required.

One way of facilitating the mail browsing is to put a search bar, just like in the Trading Post.

The other, is to put tabs in the mails: predefined tabs/folders like e.g. “Personal Story”, “Dungeons”, “Friends”, etc… or (my wishful thinking) custom tab/folders.

What you guys/girls think?

Just delete anything you don’t want/need; be aware, there is a ‘bug’ with mail in which you will not receive mail if your mailbox is full or nearly full. And…this can affect other items/notices that aren’t mail.

Thus, it is best to keep only a few mails (anything without an envelope icon does not count, of course…you can keep those as long as you so desire).

IN game mails from the game don’t count to your limit, only personal mails do. You can have 100 game mails from the game and it won’t do a thing to you receiving personal mail. I have characters that have dozens of mails from NPCs.
