In-game timer for world bosses?
or use overwolf overlay and get it that way bud.
It’s been this way for years and I don’t see it changing anytime soon, places like gw2timer are great for their notification systems anyway, you ain’t gonna get the ingame notification unless you look for taxi’s for it in LFG
You can have the http://gw2timer.com website speaks to you when a boss arrives. Just click on the time next to the boss name and set the alarm to “Subscription”.
As for native GW2 notifications, I remember Anet had those for the Molten and Scarlet invasions, and the Marionette event. They probably didn’t add the same big yellow text for world bosses because there’s so many of them, and they spawn every 15 minutes. I think the best place to add them is another tab in the “Contacts and LFG” window, where it shows a list of boss names and ETA times. But considering they haven’t done so for 3 years now and instead sponsored the Overwolf apps instead, I’m not hopeful they’ll ever add a native timer screen.
The strangest part about this seasonal patch, IMO, is that we’ve received another world boss update and still have no reasonable, in-game method to find out exactly when it’s going to happen.
It probably would be too much “visual noise” on the screen to show the players the different timers that are actually in the game for world-bosses and map-meta-events … … … and, of course, A-Net needs the “screen space” for the PvP and esports announcements that everybody likes so much.
