In my opinion - World first: 10k achievement points
I think only Anet can confirm this but it is a great achievement (pun intended) nonetheless.
Congratulations.
Grats:) good work:)
Congratulations!
Feed them and they multiply.
Please do not feed them.
What did you win?
What did you win?
Nothing. I think an achievement for achievement points would be a bit too meta.
As far as I know, WoW had an achievement for getting achievements.
I’d be more impressed if there wasnt a way to infinitely get points without having to spend any money at all. :/ (no seriously, you stand absolutely still and click in your inventory for a few hours and you’ll have 10000 achievement points)
@Zenyatoo.4059
… Considering I’m the first, and the thing you’re proposing doesn’t exist, I guess I’ll just need to not aim to impress you.
I’m more impressed that, with such a winning strategy, you’re not the one with 10000 achievement points. slow clap
The only thing I can think that comes even remotely close to what Zenyatoo is going on about is Agent of Entropy, but to get that requires salvage kits and things to salvage, the first of which requires cash, the last of which requires going out and getting, therefore not standing in one place.
However, I am interested in how you got those points; I’m guessing dungeon farming, as your medals are the same as mine, and I don’t even have over 3000 points yet.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Good game, You win the grand prize! the title of Troll.
Since the game has been out for two months and your some how at three to four times as much achieves as most of the dedicated players then you must not have much of a life?
You dont even have to go out to get the things to salvage. If you have enough money, just buy the cheapest things on the market and keep salvaging, poof, unlimited achievement points.
Now he does have 100 Explore and other things, so probably has done a lot in the game, just saying you could get it from nothing but salvage.
Would be interesting to see screenshots of his achievements list.

Yeah I salvaged 725800 items, the salvage kits alone costing over 154g. I made a real effort in the early days to max out every achievement I could. But it became clear fairly quickly that Entropy was by far the most accessible repeatable achievement.
I think I’m a bit antsy at the moment. Some idiot claiming something can be done in a few hours that took you several weeks shouldn’t annoy me as much as it currently does.
Wow; I admire your dedication, but rather you than me
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Or at least I’m fairly sure it’s a world first.
I doubt anyone else would put themselves though it.
Good night.
Did you really have to just come here and say that.
Now it just seems as if you’re trying to incite this reaction out of us.
Nice, congrats on your achievement OP!
It must of took a lot of hard work and dedication to earn that.
Gonna go with Mungrul too: rather you than me! hehe

Actually I know what Zenya is referring to. There is a method. It doesn’t even require money. Also reasons why probably other people haven’t done it, is because it would be extremely mindless repetition of clicks over and over. You’d need a bot for such a thing.
Also not everyone has that “must be world first” goal.

Seems like you (and a very small subset of users of this forum) just have a bad attitude.
Most people have taken my post in the spirit it was written, as a shared celebration of a meaningless achievement.
I didn’t claim to cure cancer, but I did get 10k achievement points. Not claiming to be king of the world, but it’s not something most would dedicate such an effort to.
Not going to hide in the shadows just because spoilsports like yourself feel entitled to belittle people.
I would say, Grats!" but the achievement was already your reward and it’s good enough for you!

(hooray for quote breaking)
For starters yes it does exist. It’s called hobby tinkerer It’s a “hidden” achievement for doing extra transmutations past the first 30.
Secondly if you have enough HoM points you can swap out multiple skins on 1 armor piece. For example, if you have both the heritage and the balthazar gauntlets unlocked you can take a pair of gloves into your HoM. Buy 1000+ of the heritage and balthazar transmutations (they’re free) then go nuts clicking away.
Thus all you really did was waste your gold getting this 10K points which mean exactly zip. Slow clap as you put it.
(Oh and as a finishing note, the reason I havent abused this is because I dont consider achievement score that I got by clicking in my inventory for 6 hours to be worth anything. :/ )
Id just like to add that I complete the worlds first, my character doing exactly the in-game events that I do every day in the order that I do them, every day. Let’s all share in my meaningless accomplishment.
Nice work, @Risingashes. Now get some sleep!

Ye, you get 0.85 achievement point per transmutation, so the 10k points topic is moot.
@Zenyatoo, you can transmute an item with a Hom skin even if it already has the same one, ie a transmutated Fiery Dragon Sword accepts a FDS transmutation. I know it doesnt do much when going for multiple stacks, but you’ll be using less time clicking on 2 different stacks all the time.

I didnt know you could transmute the same skin over and over lol. But yeah, so, like 3 HoM points is all you need to do this for free by just clicking in the inventory over and over.
Ignore the vast amount of troll like messages. From myself who has 2.4k and thought that was alot, i’m real chuffed you got 10k! I’d love to know how you got so many.
I think this is hilarious, good on you. It makes me think of this gif: http://i.imgur.com/DOHrs.gif
I think some people forget one person’s fun isn’t the same as another person’s fun.
Or some people don’t know what fun is anymore because they’ve let it get beaten out of them or were never born with the idea.
I should know, I had fun once, and it was awful.

Im not really sure how im PMS’ing. My first post has disdain because I assumed he did it by simply clicking in his inventory for a few hours. Which isnt worth any level of congratulations. Now I just feel sad for him, as he’s gone and wasted his in game gold for something he could have done for free <.< Which is also not something you typically congratulate people on.
What would be interesting is if achievement points became a currency, granted a few of the above methods are changed. Seeing achievement points used for waypoints, gathering supplies or guild influence points would be neat. Just an idea.
Very nice work. How many hours did it take you? Any areas you’ve explored that just stick out? I’m looking for more ways to enjoy the game. Haven’t had so much fun since the release of DAoC.
Thanks to everyone that took this in the spirit intended. I suppose there will always be some people who look at meaningless achievements with bitter jealousy- will never understand such an attitude.
If anyone out there has actually gotten the 10k achievement before me, using the method described, feel free to respond. Personally I’m happier with my method as it is a bit more involved- but first is first regardless of method and I’d be happy to amend my thread.
I really enjoyed getting there, and I did it in conjunction with some titles that I am majorly aiming for which only got done 85% of the way in- so not that much additional effort.
I do hope the devs take a good look at this thread and disable and remove any points gained from the “unlimited” point generating achievements.
Those achievements only serve to make the point total of an account meaningless. For example, you have over 10k achievement points, yet you havent even finished gaining acceptance to the three orders yet nor have you finished the story lines for each race. Your sPvP achievements are at the rabbit level and your WvW achievements are those of someone who just stepped foot into the zone for the first time.
My point is, you have more achievement points than is even possible to aquire had you done every non-repeatable achievement in the game. Yet you have not even done the most basic achievements.
Compare that to someone like myself, who has 750+ hours logged and has 4 maxed trades, all jumping puzzles, all dungeon paths but 3, half of the slayer titles, 85% of the hero tab, and alot more. My total is 2837.
Gaining points the way you did makes it impossible to look at someones achievement points and tell if they really put a lot of time and effort into maxing out their achievements or if the set a macro to reapply a HoM skin over and over before they went to bed every night.
EQ1 Player here..
Yeah, folks like us really do snicker at the op.
If this is how you think you “won” a MMO, you are doing it wrong, kiddo…..
Things like this are the reason people are found dead in front of their computer with their game still logged in.
I’m sorry for the amount of smack you’re getting OP, congratulations.
I believe these kind of comment should be infracted.
You did this without the HoM skin exploit, obviously you’re not meant to farm unlimited APs that way.
