There’s plenty of fancy looking armors in the game.
Every single piece of male medium armor is pitifully ugly. None of it (unless you really like long coats or dresses) is appealing to my eyes. None. Zero. 0. Female medium armor is almost as bad but there are a few pieces I like.
Heh.. ask me as charr engineer. I had loved to see more along the lines of what the concept arts show like the awesome charr with the flamer and his amazing cool velding goggle mask, yet all i get are long coat tents with horrible stretching. There are not many (medium) armors at all that can be even considered fitting for a charr engineer (in my humble opinion and preferences) …cept maybe the magitech if you really wanna stretch it…can also be taken literally sadly. You would belive that for medium armors you would get ranger, thief AND engineer orientated armory. I mean sure.. coats, masks, pirate hats and stuff like this are actually really nice to see arround, but where things like for example smith aprons, thight leather stealth suits with lots of straps and buckles with knives and pouches, shrouds or even ponchos, welding googles or just some more variation in bottoms? I for example would LOVE to see a leather armor like this here for a change (ignore the dwarf who wears it)

Even the embrace of sorrow dungeon medium armor that SHOULD be (in my humble opinion designed arround the engineer style) is a coat.. and to add salt to the wound also the one with the least “science” on it. I mean yea.. i get it. The armors are designed to be universal for the classes that can equip them.. but come on, make atleast SOME parts unique for the style of the classes or atleast different styles or allow people to transmute parts from other armor ratings alltogether and just puzzle their styles together like they want. Like for example a hood together with a heavy cuirrass, a skirt, leather shoulders and medium gloves or a light armor mage coat with heavy armor bottoms , gloves , boots and shoulders. Like i said before the " armor should look like its class specific style wise" should be invalid by now.. look at the “any armor rating” facepaint on the gem store (what looks amazing btw, good job Anet
), nuff said.
