Guild Wars 2

My apologies to those who read this earlier, but it got deleted because I addressed it directly. Here’s a repost without “callouts”, because it seems worth doing.

I’ve posted my fair share of criticisms of things I don’t like about the game, but I want to take the opportunity of Thanksgiving Day in the US to make a little positive space and thank someone for all of the things I love about GW2.

Please respect the intent, and respond in the spirit in which this thread was created. There are plenty of other threads to air complaints and criticism.

So, in no particular order, twelve things I’d like to thank anyone responsible for:

1. A beautiful world that still gives me moments of wonder as I explore it.

2. Tybalt. Definitely my favorite character in the game.

3. No breath timer underwater.

4. So many intriguing professions I can’t figure out which one to play next.

5. The panscopic monocle.

6. The beautiful, creative redesign of the Sylvari.

7. The Sylvari culture with its Arthurian and Fae touches.

8. The city of Divinity’s reach. It still makes me grin with pleasure.

9. The entertaining, and unexpectedly complex Skritt. At first they seemed like they were solely a comic relief race, then later the storyline gave them depth.

10. Temporal Curtain. Pulling people off battlements is pure joy.

11. WvW in general. I was in awe the first time I stood atop a wall, trebuchet ammo raining all around, spells sizzling through the air and a massive melee boiling below me. I still love it.

12. All those dye colors, and up to three separate dye areas on each piece of equipment.
