• The Infinite Continue Coin will now grant 99 lives when used in Super Adventure Box.

So does this just give you 99 once or is it everytime you enter and use it, it gives you the 99 lives? I never really played SAB the last time so I don’t know how any of these coins work or if there’s a limit to how many you can use etc.

It wouldn’t be infinite if it gave you 99 lives just once. it gives you infinite continues on top of 99 lives each time you use it.

Originally, it gave you a certain number of lives every time you continued (it was either 5 or 10 if memory serves).

I’m guessing it still works the same way, except now instead of just giving you 5 or 10 it gives you 99. Because its infinite anyway, so may as well just have it give you the maximum number and have to use it less often as a convenience rather than needing to use it every 5 deaths.

It behaves exactly like the arcade games.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Anet changed it to just a large amount of lives and make it 1 use just to get people to use it and get it out of the system. It could give so many lives to make it seem “infinite” but may not really be, so that is why I asked.

It’s an improvement over the old system. You don’t lose functionality you just have to reuse the coin less often. This is a good change.

When you run out of lives, you get taken to moto’s dungeon. Using the infinite continue coin there gives you 99 lives. You can use it as many times as you want.

Correct – Continue Coin used to be gain an additional life so you had to keep using it over and over. Now it gives 99 (max lives) until used again. (it pays homage to Super Mario Brothers cries a little )
