Infusions, have you made any?
wait, what infusions? I only know the ones that you get with laurels (the ones that give +5 X stat only) and +5 agony resistance ones that you can buy in the fractals. There are more? Where?
lol the ones you make in mystic toilet with crazy amount of T6 mats —-—>http://dulfy.net/2012/11/17/gw2-ascended-gear-and-infusion-recipes/#1
yeah, those do seem quite ridiculous. Many people would probably accuse me of gimping myself, but I wouldn’t use them lol. If I would plan on running fractals on a character I would use the versatile simple infusion only, otherwise I would buy one for 5 laurels.
pretty much what i expect with most sane people
I think Precision one is worth of it if you get an additional CritChance (worth of 21 stat-points then).
Ripoff,
Why waste all those Tier 6 mats and Gold for an extra +5 stats when you can get +100 from food.
No i never have and i never will unless Tier 6 mats drop excessively in price to what they were when GW2 opened..
I really hope mods/devs see this thread an rethink the requirement of these infusions because its beyond ridiculous at this point. 5-10 skill points, 20-50 mystic coins, 250!!!! karka shells (or passion fruits which is the only thing that doesn’t feel like a ripoff for the amount you need) and 100-250 T6 mats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! W-T-F can some1 please explain lol. Also there’s some that require 100 Passion Flowers (50s each right now)!!!!
For example if you want versatile precise infusion it will cost you 10 skill points, 50 mystic coins (2g), 100!!!! Passion Flowers (that is over 50g alone…), 250 vicious claws (29.50g)…………………………… That’s right, 81.50g for PLUS FIVE OF PRECISION!
If this isn’t the biggest ripoff in gw2 i dunno what else could possible beat it (including legendary weapons).
Certainly not, its insane!
For a +5? Certainly not. But that +5 doesn’t make any difference anyway so I won’t ever bother with them.
Yeah I was debating on the 5 laurels or the mats for the +5 infusion recently. 5 laurels is far easier to obtain regardless. If I even get to that many tier 6 mats I would not be wasting it on one more stat point.
I don’t even have any Ascended gear, yet I have all 8 professions at 80 in exotic gear and my main has a Legendary.
I don’t play Fractals as I have no need to; I’ve seen them all at least once, why would I play them again?
And the Advantages offered by ascended gear are too tiny to justify the grind to get.
Plus, I hate the idea of repetitively playing the same instanced content over and over again.
So no, I have no infusions, and I don’t waste laurels on Ascended gear.
I have no need for agony resistance, as I don’t play content that requires it.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
my main has fine infusions in her ascended trinks. 2 of my other 80’s in 5/6 ascended gear might get fine infusions too(i don’t run fotm with them, but the laurel ones are +4) as soon as i get 6/6 for them. my other 80’s idc as they are only there to check for events/mine ori
money sink? totally. for perfectionist min/maxers? totally. doesn’t bother me one bit. if people think the prices are exorbitant, then just buy the laurel versions….

Not one BUT FIVE POINTS omfgbbq!!!!!
I have fine infusions in every slot save amulet (which gets utility infusions)
Yes, I have made two of them; a resilient infusion and a precise infusion. The Mystic Coins I had already collected from dailies, monthlies, and map completion. I had ~880 skill points at the time, so trading those for the Philosopher’s Stones wasn’t an issue.
For the resilient infusion, I had already collected about half of the needed armored scales just from playing the game; I didn’t farm them. I purchased the remainder on the trading post. I decided it was cheaper – in terms of my time investment – to run CoF and earn the gold needed to purchase the scales rather than farm them directly.
I did farm the Karka shells; casually, about 3 or 4 times a week for approximately an hour each session over a period of 3 weeks. I reached about 192 shells; I purchased the remaining 58 from the trading post.
For the precise infusion, I had collected all of the required vicious claws through just regular play over the previous 6 months. I did have to buy the greater portion of the passion fruit.
I wanted +10 Agony Resistance. I now have it and feel no need to farm any further for infusions as I have no plans of going beyond fractal level 19.
Well if you have a legendary and everything else maxed out – why not? It’s not like you have some other way to spend gold.
For most players though – yeah not worth it at all.
Even with full ascended (armor, weapons, back and jewelery) you have a maximum of 14 slots you can get 70 stats (provided you can slot in each). Precise is one of the cheaper to make (~12 g per) landing at 160+ gold for 70 stat points, as the cheapest!
Nope, and i won’t.That toilet is a thing i’m staying far far away from.Only used it to create superior sieges, nothing else.
Everyone is kitten at how Shards, Globs and Vials are useless since the introduction of fotm, why not change the incredible amount of T6 mats needs to shards/vials/globs? Not only that would make perfect sense cuz you’re making an infusion mainly for fotm and shards/vials/globs are all in fotm but at least we’ll have something to use our Shards on…
I made them. People flipped the heck out when ascended gear was introduced, and a single upgrade there doesn’t give you as many stats as a set of 5 infusions. There is literally no other way to use money in the game to make your character better, so why not make the leap?
I made one, in my case it was only ~17g.

and to you, does spending 17g makes sense for a +5 power as an example?

As opposed to wasting 10 laurels on a half infusion, sure why not?

because you can live without that +5 stat for 17g. Even if you make multiple infusion of one kind (precision for example) you may only gain 1% of crit chance for hundred(s) of gold…
i made a +5 str +5 AR for my warrior, just to out min/max people, cost 35g. probaly wouldnt do it again though.

I can live without 17g as well. By the time I can afford another ascended item, I’ll have enough gold for another infusion.
Only made one for my neck a while ago, have not even thought about making another as I am trying to push towards getting all the t6 i need for the Gift of Fortune.
Kaiji Ruko – 80 Ranger, Revanat Shadowdeath – 80 Necromancer
I made 1 percision/agony infusion once, but looking at what I’d need for the others, I highly doubt anyone is stacking the ones that can fit into either offensive or defensive to mix/max. Passion Flowers? Really? xD
I use a +5str +5 agony on my back slot, cost me about 30~35g to make.
