Q:

these defensive and offensive infusions with +4 to a given stat.
are we talking percentages or just a flat +4 increase ?

some clarification would be nice, as +4 seems like a waste to me I hope we’re talking percentages.

Just +4, not percentage.

the reason i ask is because even though agony infusions say +5 they actually lower the damage from agony by 6%, so I was wondering if the same is true for these infusions as well. a response from an official a.net source would be awesome on this matter.

That’s because agony works differently by checking fractal level vs agony resist, which results in a percentage of damage per tick. Has nothing to do with regular stats nor percentages.

The answer you got is correct.

In addition you can make infusions with +5 to a stat but they also cost a ridiculous amount in materials (Mystic Forge)

It is a flat +4 or +5 bonus to your stats and not a percentage. It does translate to a % increase to certain attributes like critical chance. +21 percision at level 80 will give you a +1% chance of a critical hit. So, in a way it works similar to the AR. Just differenet scales.

And in my opinion, the +4 or +5 bonus to stats is not worth it at all. Like I said, it takes +21 points of precision at level 80 to gain a +1% chance of critical hit.
