Ingame Survey
The issue is that advertising a survey ingame can be seen as intrusive. People want to play, not want to answer questions.
Of course there could be methods to gamify a survey ingame, but unless it turns out to be profitable, i think it would be skipped by most.
Was wondering why ArenaNet is not using an online ingame survey once in a while?
Forums only cover about 5% of the playerbase and even less than 1% when it comes to CDI (guessed estimates), and shouldn’t be reliable enough to poll to see what the majority thinks or wants.
Because then they would actually have to do some work.

How dare you speak for me ! I want to answer questions.
The only thing that can be close to a gamified survey is the metrics gathered based on various factors such as how many people are doing a particular part of a game from dungeons, fractals, PvP, etc. An obvious survey popping up every once in a while is just going to annoy people who in the end just want to play the game.
They already have a survey system. Or at least they did have during the BETA. Each time you completed a story or event it would pop up and ask you to rate it and then answer a few questions like “where the characters memorable”. Ah those were good times!
You also had the choice to simply ignore them. I would like to see this system put back into the game and will randomly activate for players every now and then after completing certain events.
For filling out the survey they should be rewarded with something too, even if it’s just a swiftness boost for 5-minutes.

Yeah I liked those, but I don’t think they counted for anything. At least not for the first year of the game.

It could work as long as the survey is optional and non intrusive and you only have to do it once after you complete it.
