I know this tread will get merged or just deleted but anyways.

During beta we hat ingame surveys pop up every few levels, after events or at the end some story quests. This feature could be very helpful right know, just use it to ask every player a simple question: “Do you want a gear treadmill in GW2?”

If you do it right know you might have enough time to fix what may or may not be in the upcoming patch or to even delay that patch if you need more time.

If they implemented this AFTER the patch, then sure.

But as it is, we have next to no info on what Ascended gear will entail.

No. You’d have to define gear treadmill in game first. And regardless of how it turns out, it would split the playerbase. One side would be happy, and the other would be ticked. And quite frankly, I really don’t want to put such a choice up to chance (which it would be, since most people would click out of the survey).

Let’s wait and see what this Ascended Armor business is all about.

What would be the point? If you promise a game without a gear treadmill, then you have to keep that promise even if a majority votes to break it. Wouldn’t you say so?

In my book, the fast majority of players don’t want a gear treadmill at least if the TS’ and forums I logged in today are representative. If Arena Net would start an ingame survey the would most likely get the same results and see that only a very small minority actually wants this kind of “content”.

And no, I don’t think we should wait until Ascended Gear is out. Now is the time to make clear that we don’t need a gear treadmill, not after it’s already too late.

Thing is, we don’t know whether or not Ascended armour will be a treadmill.

Sure, Anet could spend the time doing a survey, but it might be in vain, simply because they’re not implementing a treadmill.
