Let me get this straight. After the changes I can start a party, create a dungeon and still get kicked towards the end by some two random guys, who want to replace me with their chum?

I mean… What?

Ye thats what I thought. Its a pretty terrible idea to do one without the other. This is just going to allow massive griefing. Especially for people who perhaps get stuck near the end of a dungeon or fractal. Then you can just jump in and troll by kicking them all out and inviting your own people.

Yeah that’s probably going to happen more often now. I personally didn’t ever encounter such brutes. But to be honest I lost so much time when people would dc or troll quit or just quit because something came up IRL or maybe 2 guys would start arguing because of builds or what not in the party and one of them leaves and he was the owner. At a certain point it was so frustrating it was one of the main reasons that made me not play the game anymore. I might consider coming back again after this change. All they have to do is fix the kick system now.Too bad they only took 2 years to fix it, so maybe in 2 years the kick system will be fixed too.

I dunno, it’s not that different than now, is it? Just the instance owner isn’t immune to that happening. Unless I misunderstand, I don’t feel like this will result in significantly more griefing in that regard than occurs now, and also, this change will prevent the other 4 players being booted if the instance owner leaves, which was an avenue for much greater griefing.

Right now people who want to take over often don’t know who started the instance and that’s the only thing stopping them. Obstacle removed.

People sell dungeons a lot as well. So whats gonna happen with say arah is someone is gonna take time soloing, have people joinin, and kick him. then split the profits afterwards. lol how is it Anet can’t see something as simple as this? do they even play their own game?

I love this change. I love doing dungeons with my guildmates but some of them don’t always have stable connections. This means we don’t have to worry about the dungeon booting us out if whomever started the dungeon DCed and couldn’t get back in before the instance disbanded us.

Love this change.

This shows just once more that regardless what Anet does it is just bad according to the opinion of a part of the community.

It’s a good thing for guilds and friends. A bad thing for the LFG-tool.

And this is the definitive end for dungeon selling. Two people can join, kick the seller and collect the dungeon reward. I don’t like dungeons being sold, so I personally don’t have a problem with that – but I know that many people do not share my opinion there.

Increasing the number of needed kick votes to 3 would be a prudent thing to do. To minimize damage.

I don’t guess it’s taken you this long to realize that people disagree about things.

I would like to see some clarification on this issue before passing judgment. For my guild this will be awesome, but people make some good points. Anyone at ArenaNet care to shed some light on the concerns in here? Thanks.

This is indeed a troubling scenario.

I think they should make it that if the instance owner is kicked, the instance is lost like usual. But if the instance owner is disconnected or offline, the instance will not be lost.

Good change overall, but a bad change when they do not address the fact 2 votes can kick someone from the group.

This will really benefit the guild groups and casual PUGs where trolling is rarely seen. It will unfortunately also make it slightly easier to troll / kick people from the group at a whim at the boss.

Personally I’ve never seen that happen, but I’ve heard it happens to people every once in a while.

Yup, same thoughts exactly.

I would further add on that if the owner leaves via ‘leave party’ option, the instance ownership would be transferred.

The 2 person vote kick at the end of a dungeon is a painful blow, while so far I’ve not encountered such cases, I would not like to be at the receiving end of it.

Also I believe that the party chat interface would be wiped after getting kicked? Would be hard to report that, =\

Party leader can determine number of votes to kick and who has kick immunity. That would solve everything.

^ and it would fit nicely into the lfg tool, too.

Yep. Owner can be protected, joiners can pick the level of protection they want in a party.
