There’s so many people on the GW2 forums that say they’ve left or hinted they left, yet still feel they care to comment in the forums. confused
Why wouldn’t they? I’m also not playing anymore (I log in sometimes to say hello to guild), but why shouldn’t I visit this hilarious forum and laugh at cheesy comments like this one of youirs and in the same time check out on the progress of a game?
I also haven’t played Mass effect for a while and I still visit bioware forum sometime… Why not?

The difference being you are taking a break from the game whereas these flouncers announce they are permanently leaving it for “better” games – games so good that they still have a lot of free time to come here and keep posting about how “better” those games are and how they are no longer playing GW2.

It seems (according to my block list) that he’s not been online for at least 24 hours so either he’s blocked me in return now, or he’s been warned and/or banned by the powers that be. \o/
I wonder how reactions would be if that was a girl asking for a guy around :P
I saw an “experiment” video on The Guardian website not long back, where a woman propositioned men in the way men have oftentimes spoken to women. A lot of men were simply bemused; thought she’d lost her marbles and asked if she was feeling well. One guy took her up on her offer. A lot were quite confused as she shouted certain things from the van she was driving past them.
The only, yet major, difference was the men didn’t appear to feel threatened by the woman in any way.
Make of that what you will.

Have seen this guy a few times on Piken Square…have to admit, I didn’t think too much of it; am so used to random or vaguely offensive trolling in game chat :p

Why he would get banned? I don’t see problem. That kind of small talk works fine in Sweden if you use hair products and white lacoste sneakers.

Might still just be a troll, but I know first hand what can happen if you let slip in a game that you’re female…he’s far from the only man/boy sending whispers like that. However, that doesn’t mean the behaviour should be accepted of course.
This kind of stuff is borderline harassment. Several of us female gamers do not want to put up with lewd whispers from random strangers. That behavior and attitude drives us away from games. First of all, it’s creepy. Second, we came to play a game for fun, not be socially targeted and singled out, because we’re women.
I hope this guy got a wake-up call that this is the 21st century..
I’ve seen him many times in map chat, and since I am a girl from Sweden I was curious to know what he wanted. He asked me if I wanted to have a good time irl and other more rude suggestions. I was not too happy about this and wrote back exactly what I thought about him.
After that he blocked me.
