So you’re mad they even let Exotics in WvW? What do you believe should be the top tier? Or maybe you’d rather it have the SPvP setup. Do you realize even with that setup there will still be no fair fights simply because of the nature of WvW. Technically even in SPvP there are no perfectly fair fights due to class and build disparity. The only possible way for a real fair fight in WvW is to give everyone the same exact gear with the same exact class and build and only let groups with equal amounts of people fight each other. There are no perfectly fair fights in this game, get over it.

2. Existing Ascended gear already pisses me off because, again, it is usable in WvW and provides a tier of stat increase. Best part is that it requires an even more asinine gated PvE dungeon grind. Why the kitten should I have to do something kitten so I can play the game?

You can get Ascended rings and amulets from the Laurel vendor, in fact the Laurel vendor is the ONLY (besides Triforge) place to get Ascended amulets. If you want to spend the gold you can get an Ascended backpiece with very minimal time in fractals, many people had backpieces before they were at scale 10. And backpieces have such low stats it really doesn’t matter except for the Agony Resistance.

As more Ascended gear is released there will be various ways to obtain it. Including WvW as stated by Anet. I’m sure some will complain that they need to go into WvW to get a piece gear that is most useful for a particular dungeon.

The main people I feel for are the people that like doing Fractals, but there is no Ascended gear that fits their build. So they must change their build or wear non-optimal equipment just to advance in Fractals. The WvW whining is just so invalid on so many levels.

Quite frankly the reason for all this complaining is to due to only a few select stat setups being available for ascended gear. Actually if ascended gear was released with all the stat setups available as seen with exotic gear this would cut down a lot on the whining most probably. Also just excluding these items from WvW altogether would be other option since as you said they’re mostly intended for Fractals, but that also leads to its own set of issues and whining. However, the amulets don’t offer Agony resistance so they’re not really for fractals, side-note.

WvW still is going to be a game of numbers and server participation, but the full set ascended items may throw wrinkle in an already semi-chaotic system. I also wouldn’t say that an argument of WvW is imbalanced so it’s fine if it becomes even more imbalanced holds much water. Just because you see a building on fire doesn’t mean you should throw gasoline on it; in the same way if WvW is horribly imbalanced it doesn’t mean that Anet should continue to add to that imbalance.

Has anyone included rune set bonuses in the math for Exotic vs Ascended? Ascended items don’t get rune set bonuses, correct?

In GW2 pvp outcome is 99% skill 1% gear.
Especially because there are diminishing returns (especially on power).
Check your character sheet while in WvW.

The only DR in this games are in loots and dungeon rewards.

The complaining most definitely would not stop. As you can see from the old and recent posts from this thread alone, the complaint is that Ascended is allowed in WvW at all.

As far as the amulets, you have to infuse the AR. Unless this not possible for some reason.

Lastly, WvW is imbalanced by design. This is not a negative thing. To truly balance it would take away the fun and the volatility of a simulated war. I was simply pointing out the irony that people are complaining that Ascended will make WvW imbalanced when WvW has never been balanced. Want to be the most effective you can for WvW, then have fun doing “PvE to PvP” just like other botched games in the past, of which Anet’s philosophy claimed to be against.

The time they are taking dragging their feet to get progression available in all formats is kind of ridiculous.

What are you talking about? DR on power… uhm? You’ve probably missed a few important buffs somewhere and then thought your power went down.

But please do tell, how does DR on power work in your mind.

WwW = small vertical progression. this is good
PvP = no vertical progression

We haven’t seen any ascended armor yet, but if we consider that eq that we do have has an ascended equivalent of the slot upgrade hardcoded in, we really should expect similar approach (so, ascended rune equivalents added to the armor stats)
Of course it is possible that they will figure out how to add a second slot to equipment before armor gets released (their inability to solve this problem so far is likely the reason why they started with jewellery).
And no, the rune bonuses were not included on any side of the comparison.

But doesn’t ascended make an already unbalance game part even more unbalanced?

Logic is everyones’ friend and enemy at the same time.

WvW is fun despite having imbalances, not because of having imbalances. The best battles occur after reset and/or during the peak times of at least two servers, where your guilds need to co-ordinate, delegate and strategize in order to crush your evenly matched enemies. Flipping towers defended by 1 guy on an arrow cart with your zerg isn’t fun.

At a rate of 1 item per month if you do dailies every day. Pure grind.

I already spent a lot of money and time to make all my 3 char wear Exotic, if they start to add tiers after tier after tier I SALUTE THIS GAME forever, mainly because Anet will be a liar coz they claim that this game has no grind and not gear progression.

I can accept gear grind only for PVE not for WvW, in WvW everyone should be the same with end game gear.

Said so i really hate liars, so i hope Anet don’t fall into the gear treadmill (aka they shouldn’t listen stupid Ncsoft vision, aka WoW vision). Is so hard add fun content and leave the grind out once a time for all?
