I’ve tried dozens of idea on where it might come from or recipes that might produce something, all to no avail..

Devs, any chance you missed something on this? I know there’s a good recipe-hunt crowd that like to work out how the very rare things are found, eg: Nightfury, so I’m not asking for the recipe just a Nod to confirm that it is currently available in the game today.

If it isn’t, I can move on and stop looking for it..

I would also be interested in the answer to this question. I want that staff for my ele and the community having so far come up with nothing is making me sad

It could be a bug in the drop tables (Anyone else remember the Final Rest debacle?). Looking at the staff, it looks like it might be something that drops from Auric Basin. Perhaps a reward from the Grand chests or maybe the Vinetooth Prime’s chest? (But even so, surely somebody must have found it by now.)

There was one on the tp today for 1000g. I can’t check ingame atm, so I’m not sure if it’s still there.

I’m still inclined to think it is a loot table bug like the accursed Final Rest used to be as mentioned by Zaxares.

I’m positive. I was looking through some of the staff skins in the wardrobe and azimuth stood out, so I tp-ed it and there was one there. I just rechecked the tp and it’s not there anymore.

It was not in the API yesterday. It is today. Someone found it.

That 1000g pricepoint shows he knows what he has and definitely ISN’T going to reveal how to get it any time soon.

There’s a second one on the tp for 950 g (well, 1 c less than 950, same diff). Orders are around 200 gold. As long as no one caves in and pays the high listing, eventually it’ll come down. I hope.

Considering the sudden supply it must be a mystic forge recipe.

I disagree, on the grounds that if they were going to put forge recipes in, they’d do it for more than one weapon. This one has been visible in the wardrobe, like the other HoT exotics like Ebb, Flow, Dandy Bluster, etc., and each of those is a dropped weapon.

If it would be a drop it would be highly unlikely that there would be no supply for weeks and then suddenly, without a patch which might have fixed a drop table, several appear on the TP.

I’m going with drop from raids. That explain why it taken awhile to show.

It is a tradeable exotic. All special skins from the raids are ascended and acc bound. Also all special drops from the raids can be bought from raid tokens, but Azimuth is not on the reward trader.
The only special item from raids which is tradeable is the ghostly infusion (drop one, from NPC is acc bound).

I saw someone link an ascended with that skin transmuted on it. I’m not sure if there’s any chat code that allows you to do that so there’s at least another person with the skin.

The sell price already dropped to 500g and the buy orders in the 200g region vanished. Something must be going on there…

since hot release i whant that staf for my ele
but i ignored it
first a tread apeared here and on reddit
but they disapeared some where in a black hole i gues xd
i hoped some one else find it out

then 3-4weaks after hot malediktus gave it another try
and made a tread about how to great it
but nearly no one even listen to him or try to help
on that moment i chose to direct aim at it

pvp leagues apeared and i played buisy there
and forgot about the staff nearly again until sunday
i got a losing streak and was frustrating abou match making once more

i took once more a look at that awesome skin
and inspired by him i took all golden yellow suny stuf
out off the storage to try to combine
the fun thing sun beans was one of the first thing i tried
and on the wiki there are not much combinations for that item
i wonder why it was the last missing compound onb the reddit search
second item was for me the mystic coin because yep golden coins^^
next on my list staf heads or shafts
because mystic forge weapons involve mostly one component
for last thing i tried the usual stuff
lucky enough i had the eldrich scroll left in my bank
so there was it bingo 4out of4
but i had not enough staff shafts
my trading pic up is a total mess so
ty to 2friends 1day later they send me those items
so i forged the world first 2 azimut
the worlds first was given to my elementalist and direct used
the second on walked to the trading post
but how should i decide about how high i go with the price tag
so i chose to go the mid way and not be to greedy
under the invisbil shoes but higher than the most iteams
3hs later it sold indead
now with the first ever on the trading post
(nr 2 world wide forged)
peopl get finally motivated to search for it but also
the pure greedy peopl to make a profit
those on reddit for exampl joking around and wonder why i not put it higher
compared to the invisibl shoes
joking around about the person who maybe not have enough money to list it higher
only for you knowlege i could but choose not to do..
and that 1k gold was more then enough and nice profit
and who ever bought it had like me a unque skin 24h hours
and the worlds second ever greated
i had also my fun with the worlds first geting wsps and run peopl around me
funy fealing to be that special corn/snow flake for a some time
24h later the peopl finaly found it out

i am total fine with the way to forge it
it is a realy nice skin
simpl but with a nice little efect
nothing over the top
so i realy realy lick that staff and i bet i am not the only one
and it is absolute fair and obtainabl for every one
so a big THANK YOU to the anet team who greated it
and made the balance realy fair and even casual friendly
more weapons like that plz!

That’d because they never went in the forge before. Their uses were ‘known’ and limited.

Well, congrats. I’d completely written it off as a drop. What sucks about this is that it means any material that didn’t go into the forge before needs to be rechecked ;(

I was all set to make it today thanks to this thread until I realized it would take 25 vials of linseed oil. I still need 139 more of those to complete Nightfury so, yah, nope, I want Nightfury a lot more than a giant golden stick (I do want a giant golden stick, of course, but it doesn’t suit any of my alts nearly as much as Nightfury will and I’ve been slogging towards Nightfury a lot longer).

i don t use the forge very often so i never looked at all stuff
