Is GW2 players back?
I’m on SBI. Population was Ok there. I’m not logging in though after late ANET decisions
But if you are new and want to kill some bosses like Tequatl and new Wurm then only high population server. No options. Or you’ll need to guest, join other guilds just to complete the event. Downside – a long queue for WvW.
DUDE!
Since your are back be sure to check the wonderful new items in the gem store!!
Maguuma is kind of weird. At prime time, you hit oflow after oflow when trying to do world bosses. Me and select friends have given up doing events at Maguuma since it becomes a rat race similar to any champ train (difference being you jump from zone to zone), which kills the fun for us.
That is not what we enjoy, we love the idea of jumping to events without the pressure of being the first few to get in the zone before the boss melts in seconds.
Maguuma however, lacks players during US daytime. I have only played a few times during US daytime, but I did complete some world events solo like Commisar, Maw, and FE.

Maguuma Server
I play on Anvil Rock which is a Tier 6 server and LA is always active with people anytime of the day/night. Not to mention we are the most active sPvP server so Edge of the Mists always has people in it as well. And whenever I go into WvW we always have zergs going on, not the massive zergs that make incredible computers like my own lag like a slide show but where there is usually several commanders on and 20+ people on them. Don’t listen to the trolls man. They love the game but hate Anet. They will do anything they can to someway get back at Anet and try to destroy their own game by making players feel they are not welcome or they are coming to a horrible game when it is much the opposite. They look at the glass half empty, always. Forums for video games are just not the place to go to if you want to find out something like this because they are filled with haters because they are usually the only ones vocal in the community, thus this is where they vent. I would suggest going into the game yourself and checking it out and I would probably suggest a tier 4/5 server or maybe higher depending on how good your computer is able to handle large amounts of people as well as how you would like your WvW experience and PvE experience to be and which you prefer more. I personally enjoy medium sized zergs so I can roam as well as join in on a zerg which sometimes they do get extremely massive. Then I can always guest if I feel the need to complete world bosses and such. You can’t do that with WvW though. Good Luck!
