Trying to explore Malchors Leap but every single waypoint save the one at the start is always contested meaning a single death forces me to re-tread the entire zone, which is annoying. I am playing on Northern Shiverpeaks and every zone seems dead of people all the time but when I look at world selection they all say very high, so either the world selection doesnt help, or the zone just sucks.

Are there any servers with more people wandering around the zones? Getting tired of being completely alone on every map, it was a lot more fun when there was other people romping around too, and maybe a few waypoints wont be perma-deathed

Usually no,but the southsun content has pulled people away from zones at the moment. Ordinarily in the evening, i certainly see enough ppl to do stuff, especially if i map call out. During the day, not so much.

Waypoints are always contested because nobody is doing events that contest them. And why should they, there is no incentive to do them. But that doesnt mean zone is dead, there is always plenty of people doing dwayne and lyssa events.

edit: On a second tought, yea those are probably chest farmers that appear when event timer is up, so it is possible that zone actually dead.

I didn’t check yesterday, so I’m not sure what the Southsun event has done to this zone, but on Jade Quarry the temple events get crushed by a huge amount of players pretty much as soon as they become contested. Balthazar and Grenth in Straits and CS are a different story, especially after the 4/30 update.

1) try using the first waypoint on the next zone, Cursed Shores?, and go back.
2) some events to clear WPs can be solo’d with the right build and some care when pulling; Wren comes to mind
3) to find a decent number of people in the zone check with any PvE guilds on your server whether they run the temples at certain times; on SoR the temples usually get opened on weekends through guild assaults, and sometimes during the week when enough people gather up
4) guest on other servers…? JQ seems to be very active in Orr? SoR is running Orr at least on the weekends
5) ask for help in map chat or even in LA

People keep guesting to Tarnished Coast I guess for the type of people there. RPers tend to make for a better crowd usually and since guesting has begun I’ve noticed my server is booming with people from everywhere.

anet needs to just changed how these zones work, if a zone is dead new players will have trouble doing the content. Not sure if that is working as intended, players not being able to do content.

Forget about asking others to help you on map, they will either,
a) ignore you.
b) call you a noob for not being able to solo it.
c) give a troll comment like alt+f4

This is why I’m trying to make a guild that helps all the time at your beckon and call. I’m about to do my second run in with orr on my guardian.

It’s really depressing whenever I log on into Magumma. All the areas, including cities, are all either entirely empty or have a low population.

Everyone is segregated on different servers, with the majority of the population in WvW or Lion’s Arch. Most the time you also see people in Cursed Shore, but not today because of the event.

that’s cause Maguuma was a bandwagon server. It was a low-pop server until people decided to transfer to it before free transfers ended simply cause they were doing well. As soon as Maguuma failed people began to leave it.

Wow, I’m surprised. One of the other posters was praising the TC community. I’m on FC and I’ve seen a chat war only once in Orr — and that was over the post 4/30 Lyssa event. Usually, people either don’t respond or respond favorably.

I have been trying to get a skill point in Malchor’s leap for 5 days now, It has a Champion Risen Knight spawned right over it + a Veteran spark. But Anet continue to add useless content that draws players away and leaves previous area’s a ghosts town.

People will soon get tired of this kitten.

I doubt its the answer you want but if you really cant get it, and in leiu of the agreed necessity of some stimulation for this land try this:

Order of Whispers Spy kit
Ash Legion Spy Kit
Having Thief Friend cover you
Having Guardian Friend spam aegis

Have you guested over to a busier server? Do you belong to a guild?

I know if someone in my guild said they needed a skill point, a half a dozen people would come back them up…if not right away, soon enough. I also know that that knight is killed relatively regularly on my server, because I’ve killed him.

If you insist on soloing everything and won’t guest to another server for free….there’s not really much anyone is going to be able to do for you.

It’s an awful zone. Straits is easier and Cursed has more farmable events. It also has the worst enemy types and risen trebs are everywhere.

Unless there’s temples ready to be done, I don’t see a reason to go there.

It really is annoying to see these nice zones… I don’t believe Southsun pulled so many people away, but Im sure ML was dead on my server way before it. I highly doubt anyone but people who enjoyed leveling and newbies level the normal way. Because after 30, the stories are the same, and Im sure that’s the time that people craft the rest of the way. although if Anet cut the experience netted by even 25% people would freak.

I’m sure that Malchor’s Leap is affected by both temporary interest in Southsun and the 4/30 patch which made much of Orr unplayable. It’s not at all challenging or fun unless you enjoy random, unavoidable death. It is a hassle when WP’s are all contested but those that enjoy it in the first place are probably not put off by the long walk. I mean, they are still dead men walking even when they are, uh, walking.
