Is SweetFX and GemFX safe?
SweetFX is 100% safe, been using it for almost 2 years with no problems at all.
GemFX I’ve never used so I have no opinion over it.

I can’t tell if its working. Which version are you using? I tried to load one of the preset files(the most popular one with highest downloads) and it just kept giving me an error. I tried the iris one and it seemed to load, but i cant tell a difference

Did you put d3d9.dll, dxgi.dll and injector.ini inside bin folder?
it should be like this
Guild Wars 2/bin/(those 3 files)
Guild Wars 2/SweetFx/ <—-the folder you got from the SweetFX archive file
Guild Wars 2/SweetFX_preset.txt
Guild Wars 2/SweetFX_settings.txt
and the SweetFX_preset.txt should look like this
//#include “SweetFX\Presets\Default_1.5_settings.txt”
#include “SweetFX\Presets\Guild_Wars_2_Sweet_Subtle_and_Sharp.txt”
put // before the preset you dont use

SweetFX is safe, it doesn’t alter game files nor does it give any kind of gameplay advantage.
As for the error you are getting, are you using another app on the background? Because I use Raptr together with GW2 and Raptr isn’t compatible with the SweetFX d3dd9.dll and I get an error at start up (but everything is working fine)
I also tried to use Overwolf but I can’t run it together with GW2 + SweetFX, I get crash errors and the game isn’t even loading, same d3d9.dll errors, maybe other overlays have the same issue, so check to see if your error is GW2 related or it is from another application.
I tried downloading GemFX at work, to put on a usb and take home, and the Norton software they have tagged it as unsafe / malware and automatically removed it.

I THINK i finally figured it out. I was using the dragon plugin, and OMG it looks so godkitten nice now. Holy. Wow.
Never used SweetFX. Will have to look over the Youtubes to see what kind of visual change it gives to the game.

GEMFX is technically more safe than SweetFX. It is a more compact collection of predefined shaders and does not allow anything beyond its boundaries. SweetFX on the other hand would allow anyone to add arbitrary shaders which makes it less predictive in terms of safety than GEMFX.
GEMFX is used for quiet some time by 100 thousands of people and is certainly no malware if you download it from the original source. It is typically false positives.

Sorry to change the subject a little bit, but i see that gw2 has sweetfx, which one do people use and suggest as decent to use? still waiting for my game to install and i was checking .nAKAZZ’ one and it looks nice.
For some reason sweetfx doesnt work for me no matter what ill try. At least i dont have to give a kitten about mods in this case.
