Will there be any new content coming soon or is the game staying dormant until HOT , i ask because im struggling to even log on lately

And you are asking this expecting an answer from…. ? Players? Developers?

You are, as the old saying goes, Preaching to the Choir. I wish I had an answer to your question, or that anybody did. But the only people that know that answer are ANet themselves….. And we all know how open they are about that kind of stuff….

The only thing that I’ve been riding on personally is my sudden interest in PvP.

I personally think we’ll be expecting more of the same old, same old:

- more blog posts/ready ups
- re-added gemstore stuff/new gemstore stuff
- new black lion weapon skins every now and then
- information on guild halls/specialisations/things in HoT in general
- more betas
- more ‘summaries’ of things we already know about
- more pvp tournaments

Probably all of that stuff before HoT. So not much actual content in other words.

I doubt we’ll see anything substantial before HoT. However you’re mileage may vary since we’ll most likely be getting the new specialisation system before HoT (excluding Elites of course).

Game has been dormant since Jan, probably will be till Dec. I just log on for dailies and Teq

As others have stated – same recycled stuff.

- festivals/events
- perhaps a wvw tourney season
- I would marry ANet if they released double exp event again
- new BL wep skins
- general discounts in gem store

I would welcome any new faces/hairstyles & hair colors with the kits if that’s on the list of usual updates.. But what I really wish is more colors to choose from in the accessory section. Some aren’t even the right colors when you actually click on it.

At least Lion’s Arch if nothing else. When the poll went out anet said ‘sometime in the next two months you will wake up and…’. Note that was a week or so ago.

A true tip from what I’ve been doing lately : Enjoy the free time of break of gw2 until hot arrives. Play some other games, watch some movies, get a little free of gw2.

I love gw2, and i still enter to do my dailyes and kill someone on pvp, but I am absoltely LOVING have some time to try out some other games.

Because you know, when HoT arrive, we will once again get so addicted and hunger to finish everything it comes to offer, that we will probably have no time to experience other things.

Well there’s the re-done Lion’s Arch coming at some point soon, and they’re due to release the personal story fix soon too.

I’m not sure if you’d count either of those as new content but I’m expecting both to take up a lot of my time because I normally spend ages exploring cities because I want to talk to all the NPCs, poke around all the corners, climb the buildings etc. and because I want to play every story instance, once they’re back in the proper order.

Sounds like you’re in the same boat as a lot of us who have been playing the game since release or near release.

We are pretty much running in maintenance mode right now. Log on, do dailies, socialize briefly with guild members/friends, maybe some PvP, hop off to play Witcher, HoTS, or other new game that is currently out.

GW2 is a fantastic game, but like with any MMO at this point you get burned out without a constant stream of content. Luckily there are plenty of players who have not hit the wall yet and are experiencing the game for the first time. But for many of us we are just biding our time until expansion.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a break from GW2. Most of us have done it. If you can’t find a reason to log on at the moment, then don’t. Find something that will hold your interest until the expansion. It’s really no big deal, you won’t fall behind.

My guess is their main development focus is HoT, so outside of Gem Store items its pretty much maintance mode till release.

Though I think what people need to realize, is that GW2 isn’t developed, content wise, to be a consistently played game. Meaning it is built around casual gameplay, not playing 4-5 hours a day for years on end. If you play that much or for too long you will always run out of content early.

I just want SAB. Give me SAB back and I’d be just fine until HoT. I mean, most people would just be satisfied with it as it was, don’t even have to add new worlds or anything, just let us slowly grind skins and have fun. I wish I knew who I had to spank to get it through their thick skull.

Or just log in to collect your login reward. I have taken the attitude towards dailies that if I want to take a break from them now and then it is no big deal and I skip it. I can just spend that time in the SW, rack up treasure and crests, and maybe even get an achieve or a title by being in the right place at the right time and getting a shot in at a legendary.

lol.. such exciting content! SW: Endgame Content! Imagine that as a slogan for your game. It’s almost embarrassing to admit i still play gw2.

Not gonna lie, admit playing any MMO and you will get a slew of people telling you why that MMO is terrible and why you should be embarrassed to play it.

The problem is, who cares how profitable SW is?

I mean, that’s all some people do. All day, every day. and for what exactly? To get that new legendary? Okay great.

So instead of running around with Visions of the Mists greatsword skin you can run around with Twilight (just an example)..
But then that same person goes back into Silverwastes and spends the next 300 hours doing the same thing..

Silverwastes>Gold>Buy Item (Gemstore or TP)/Craft Item>Repeat
Silverwastes>Gold>Buy Item (Gemstore or TP)/Craft Item>Repeat

Like, there is no point at the end of the day.
Each time just looking a bit different. Now that’s not really an issue when that treadmill is situated in between other places to get gold at the same rate.

Dungeons ~ relatively easy content (fast paths) and can net similar amounts of gold within a given timeframe.

Fractal ~ relatively difficult content (higher scales) and nets nearly no rewards at all.

Silverwastes is currently one of the, if not the most profitable place in the game and requires no skill and no real participation (chest running = 1 driver and other ppl following pressing F)

Now the problem here is; everything after a point requires gold. A lot of gold, for very little progress

Looking at collections;

Exotic Hunter – I doubt anyone who has this (or very few) didn’t spend a few 100gold on at least 1 or 2 of the weapons
Spirit Weapon Crafter – Well over 1k gold
Dwayna Collection – Not sure but is still a lot

Just 3 require constant grinding and overall net what? 5 AP each or something miniscule?

In my honest opinion, we need something that generates more gold for more challenging content (Fractals could be the platform for this) rather than the easiest game mode being the most rewarding.
