Q:

Hi,
I was wondering if a guild would be allowed to create a lottery, where prizes could include money, precursors and legendaries.
I was thinking of a setup like: Everyone who’d like to, deposits X g in the guild bank. At the end of a period, that money is used to buy something and is given to the winner of the lottery. Who’s determined through a randomizer, where the participants are those who deposited money.
Would this be against any rules, or policy or anything, in Guild Wars 2?

Patiently awaiting a response

It’s not against policy.. but Anet doesn’t offer any protection if it turns out to be a scam.

so stick to doing it with players you trust.

I don’t think it’s against GW2 policy, the guild I’m in AFAIK has been doing this for some time.

The closest thing I could see happening is a guy getting mailed the winnings and getting inadvertently banned by the autobanner.

The forum moderators don’t think it is the case.

It’s an automatic banning system if you send too much gold through the mail. Which is a down right absurd system.
