Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone,
I just got this game today as a gift from my step bro, I was wondering if it’s not late for me to start playing? I saw some gameplay on youtube and it was awesome but I’m worried if there will be less people playing by now, thou I don’t want to waste this gift so I’ll still try it out.

Game still has plenty of people playing..and a lot of people got it for Christmas, so you’re certainly not too late.

And, absolutely not. The game is designed to drive people – even max level – across all the maps. Combined with the megaserver, you should find the world quite alive.

If you start having issues, I would look for a strong guild. As with most MMOs, having friends in game makes all the difference.

You’ll wish there was less people playing/wondering why there’s so many online on a Monday morning, when you get to Tequatal or other world boss spawns. There’s tons of people playing the game though, expect even more on the 13th and after PAX.

There’s a lot of nay-sayers on the forums, but there’s a huge number of people playing, enough to participate in major events and world bosses (and fill multiple maps) even in the middle of the day.

100% absolutely not. This is the type of game where you can be end game within a few days if you want to be. I wouldn’t recommend it though. I’ve made the mistake of rushing toward the end. This game seems to be more about the journey than where you end up.

But, even when you get to the end you will find a ton of stuff to work toward.

Honestly though? I hop around MMOS quite often and GW2 is probably one of the most active.

Besides all the said above, many players like to create new chars for many reasons, so you’ll find many players while you level.
Specially with the megaserver system you’ll never feel alone in a map.

It depends. Currently, no. If ANet keep going on the current track, maybe.

You aren’t in a much better or worse position than the rest of us (apart from the fact you won’t have traits), so you can definitely have fun. If the game changes (or finds) direction soon, then it could go on for years. If it doesn’t… well you haven’t lost any money

Normally the issue with joining older MMOs late lies with having been adjusted to new stuff.

However, since most new MMOs still follow the old ways, GW2 still feels like the newest thing out.

The game combines the people playing on different servers onto a handful of maps. This means you’ll always be running into people no matter where you go. Some events, the meta bosses, have waaaaaayyy too many people.

Some ppl still level up and do map completion for the rewards. I am not sure if there is a farm for this though i just know at some level you get keys rares transmute charges etc..

GW2 is 100x better with friends ^^

I have my quarrels with this game, but the least thing you have to worry about is the population.

Sometimes I even wonder how there can be this many players still.

Download is almost done, one thing to figure now is which server will i go :P
already have a class in mind to roll. Well maybe ill just do a random pick on the servers, can’t wait to play!!!

If you want a good WvW server, might as well join Seafarer’s Rest if you’re on EU.
