Hello, Guild Wars 2 Community
First off I love Guild Wars 2 as it is a very well thought out and creative mmorpg! however, I have spawned a question that I would love to have cleared up and hopefully others in the community would love to have cleared up as well. My question regards the safety and assurance of if we use a fine transmutation stone on a legendary such as “Quip” the legendary pistol and use its skin to transmute to a exotic quality Berserker stated pistol for the power/precision/critical damage stats. If I go through with doing the transmutation I know the new outcome would be a legendary grade (purple lettered item) with the exotic stats However will the stats be upgraded when the new ascended weapon’s are released? or should I keep Quip with the stats it comes with and wait til the new weapons are released?

p.s. The idea of this post arises from the question regarding this link http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upcoming_changes_and_features under Mentioned and Loot & Gear. It does state “legendary items” but no mention of “Transmuted” legendary items.
