Hello All,

As the title says really I played a lot from launch, I stopped playing around a month or so after the ascended gear came out.

Tbh I don’t think I really had many dislikes about when I played, I didn’t rage quit or anything, but once I got all my charters my favorite appearance and ascended items ect I got bored.

I think when i stopped you could get rings and back pieces of ascended gear.

Whats changed since I last played? did they keep the ascended gear idea can you get more pieces of ascended gear?

Currently you can get every trinket as ascended. There’s also 1.5 new armors for all armor types. Multiple new backpacks.

And a large balance update.

That’s all you missed out on, not counting LS.

Yeah, you mostly just missed a lot of the Living Story. Several temporary dungeons which were pretty awesome. And maybe you also missed Super Adventure Box, but that one is coming back. There were some huge skill and trait updates. Necromancers got a huge buff for example, with the new torment ability, and the changes to spectral wall. You missed the new account achievement system as well.

Do you like new content every 14 days?

You have to excuse Nick. He doesn’t like this game, doesn’t accept the fact that plenty of other people do like it, and so he comes into threads to heckle people’s comments. Yes, it’s a big patch. It’s not a patch to your taste maybe. There’s plenty to do for people like me.

Why don’t you go find a game you actually want to play?

its a ’’Big’’ patch in a short time i do agree with meglobob, a small patch as far as MMO’s go but at the rate there coming out (getting better quality wise imho) and bigger ones in development (stated yesterday tis’ on the front page in temp content thread) i would say there pretty big for such regular updates of actual content temp or not.

On Topic:
Was there fractals when you quit? and to be honest you have the game, its free after you buy it so why not just come back and see?

Why would anyone quit over fractals.
It’s the best GW2 update to this date.

People didn’t quite over fractals…they quit over the introduction of ascended gear. Fractals happened to be how you got them.

Blat blat totally trying to now but they take 10 years to get back to you on customer support :/

• Achievement points can now be used to unlock account wide bonuses on Gold, Karma, Magic Find and XP, as well as new weapon and armour skins, Laurels, Gold and new Achievement Chests that contain Mystic Forge Stones and other bits and bobs (I got 100 WvW tokens yesterday) ect.

• The current Living Story gives you a chance to get your own Personal Quartz node in your home instance (Quartz is used in the new crafted gear) if you complete 16 achievements.

• If you’re in a Guild, Guilds can now activate Guild Missions, which range from hunting down bounties to puzzles.

• You can now gain Ranks in WvW which lets you purchase passive abilities (Carry more supply, more damage to guards ect) as well as active abilities on siege weapons.

I came back about 10 days ago, and yes, I’d recommend to you to try GW2 out again. Multiple reasons really;

a) it won’t cost you anything to try
b) game keeps changing constantly…something that (in my opinion) is great
c) try out something “new” which you didn’t do previously… I’m doing WvW after half a year and it’s like a complete new game due to the fact that people actually learned how to play (actually, tbh, now i’m one of the noobs :P) … I’m sure the dungeons are the same.

Fanboy or not fan boy has nothing to do with the size of the patch. Say what you want about the quality but for a two week patch, this is a pretty kitten good size. And yeah, lots and lots of people are enjoying the content. Sorta why people play games one would think.

And then there’s people like you, who won’t be happy whatever they do, or are so blind with their fanboyism, they instead roam to forums to make snarky little comments like this that offer nothing to the discussion.

There have been many little changes since you left- quality of life updates like preview on the TP, new aoe circles that are more visible , ability to gift items from the gem store etc

The new dailies and monthlies where you can choose from a list what you would like to do, some new currencies, guild missions.
The addition of a guaranteed rare per account per day for the big world bosses, the ability to salvage ectos for dust.

The Living Story of course, which is shaping up to be quite interesting and gets a new update every 2 weeks.
Achievement Rewards etc

There have been changes in WvW- most notably end of culling and ranks
Since I don’t play pvP or WvW, I can’t detail what happened on that front

I am sure I left many things out but all these things add up so my advice is just to jump in and check

It depends what kind of gamer you are whether its worth coming back or not. Yes the kept the ascended concept and added more jewel slots. Im expecting armor to be out later this year.

I think this game caters to casual players. If your one of them then maybe give the game a go again. But right now, if your a hardcore gamer, you have nothing but repetition and occasional updates in front of you with very minimal temporary content.

The reason I quite before was not because of fractals, I actuary really liked them and got all the ascended gear available at the time back piece upgrade back piece and rings on more then one character.

I think I just got bored of doing the same dungeons or fractals over and over, and had nothing to aim for anymore. So I left and went back to pvp on wow.

I think I will come back thou and do some WvWvW . Like others have said its free to play so i got nothing to loose.
