Is magic find working right now?

there is post somewhere there explaining that magic find works only at 250 right now based on some testing. according to most posts there people get better drop rates without MF that with it
in my case I killed claw and shatterer few times over weekend and only times I got rare was without MF but that is only from small number of kills about 15 or so …
You do know magic find only works on mob drops right? It doesn’t affect what you get out of chests in any way.

actually no one know how it works right now because stealth nerfs and no information provided on anet part and some people actually believe that if you have magic find it actually decrease chance from everything as it stands right now …
As for me personally I am waiting for dev reply on this

that link is invalid refer to my 1st post here and look at all those people that farm outside of fractals saying something is wrong with magic find ….
thing is more and more people come to those 2 topics everyday
you or me or anyone else outside of Anet can’t prove that they are wrong or right.
that’s why I am waiting on official reply for both magic find bug and drop rate decrease outside of dungeons.
please remember how buggy this game is … wiki contain info how should it work not how it works …

You said nobody knows how magic find works, as an answer to the fact that MF doesn’t work on chest.
So I provided you with a link, which clearly says, it doesn’t work with chest at all, which also links to a dev post saying said fact.
nobody knows how magic find works now (and yes I said now even on that post)if its bugged or not!
some people actually think that if you have Low magic find it’s actually decrease loot
if you can’t prove them wrong that wiki link is invalid
I can give you another example why wiki is invalid
patch notes on wiki clearly states this
“every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot”
I killed 3 yesterday one dropped silver other 2 nothing.
so you can clearly see that wiki only states how should it work and not how it’s really works

Higher Magic Find works if you are after more crafting materials from drops, so fines/salvagables/bags, beyond that my tests show you are better off without it due to it lowering drop rates. Now experiences may vary depending on where you test it, your own magic find levels, and your luck with the RNG.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just a placebo. Until I see conclusive tests it’s no different than the Easter bunny to me, even then I wouldn’t give a kitten on getting any.

So it is a placebo? Either way nothing about that seems very conclusive.
no one knows there is too much RNG and to know precisely we would need large group of players to do test with then without magic find and compare it to results before lost shores patch to be sure …
I think it is working fine. I scarft down some magic find food with a few magic find upgrades… I got 3 or 4 rares in one FoTM, lvl 6, last night.

Uhm everyone is talking about outside the dungeons, FotM is a dungeon.
And no it’s not working properly and not it’s not bad luck. It’s been changed manually.
Balance Team: Please Fix Mine Toolbelt Positioning!
Fotm seems to be the only place thats working correctly lootwise at the moment. Open world? Not so much…

You guys need a lot more data in order to make any conclusions. You need large sample sizes of loot dropped by mobs over a period of a few days.
I’ve been saying Magic Find was borked for a while now. Everyone else tells me I’m just somehow the most unlucky person on the planet when it comes to computerized RNG in GW2.
Thing is … a properly crafted die is RNG – it rolls, a random number pops up. Computerized RNG isn’t totally random. If someone typo’d a digit in the code somewhere things could be thrown off.
Of course all we have is anecdotal evidence, and some samples pieced together from multiple sources all saying something is funky.
Personally, I was farming for crafting mats a while back and used one of the Magic Find boosters from BL Chests. Before using the booster I was getting some drops, though not as many as the guildies I was grouped with. We were relatively close in the amount of Magic Find gear worn.
After using the booster, I got zero drops. Zero magic stuff, zero crafted stuff. For quite a while I actually got zero loot at all even when they were getting drops … we killed dozens of mobs until finally I got a couple ‘eggs’ and some junk gray items. The whole time, the rest of the group looted crafting mats, whites, blues, greens, etc.
I hit the DR at the time twice (well I couldn’t tell that I did since I got no drops, but the rest of the group saw they hit DR so I assume I did too).

Don’t worry, you are not alone, I too have been saying MF is not working properly, even provided numbers to show so. And I to have been told its just my bad luck. This bug exposed the flawed magic find for many more others, so I hope both this loot drop bug and the flawed magic find get fixed.
So, no one really knows.
Devs please say something.
An answer from Devs would be nice.So we know if we waste money on MF or not.
