Is season 2 going to be a repeat of season 1?
I think Anet knows that if it does another year of temporary events with a story thats so bad you can sense the writers cringing every time they talk about it, the game is going down the drain.
It’s not just forum whiners complaining about it, it’s the general playerbase (just mention scarlet and achievement grinds) and popular websites/blogs as well.
They already said, if you read the developer blogs, etc., that the content will be permanent and will not come out every 2 weeks but once a month and then in between quality of life tweaks in the game will be released.

True, but it doesn’t say what it might be and if the new ‘content’ will include more nerfs/ stopping farmers, more gold sinks and gem store items—which I feel will be part of any ‘quaility of life’ tweaks. There are still many things that need to be fixed.
I will be waiting to see—but not playing other than the odd daily when bored and definitly not supporting the game with gem purchases.
According to this:

They’re keeping the fortnightly release.
There was a previous interview somewhere that mentioned how with season 1, other than knowing where the final endpoint of the story is, they have to do things on a whim…so it’s unlikely they’ll be able to make a coherent story.
Add in their split programming code for the Chinese versions, half testing attitude, with the same release cycle as season 1…well…they’ve somehow figured out how to solve those issues, right…?
I’d like to think of Season 1 as the pilot to a TV series. Some things work, some things don’t, and some things they have to do because they will never have the budget to do it later.
^ yet the pilot series is your big reveal. If you screw it up, the damage is irreparable. Look at ESO and TOR, no matter what they do, those two wont ever come out of the trashcan of mediocrity because people have already lost interest.
