We get one of these topics every few weeks, whenever someone reads about a new game that has recently come out, or is coming out soon or has just been announced.
I’ve lost count of all the games players have insisted Anet have to counter with a big announcement or release (but if you can find a list of every MMO released in the last 2 years that should cover it) but they’ve never timed their releases around what other developers are doing and I see no reason they would start now.

They’ve already said China will be starting from the same point we’re at now and will be going straight into Season 2 when we get it. Basically they missed Season 1, which sucks for them but I suppose it’s easier than trying to run the whole thing separately and leaving them always behind.

Nope. This game actually IS progressing this bad/slowly. If you whish for a game with more development or content being added, play something else. This truly is the worst progressing game i’ve been playing so far tbh.

You are right, see at the PvP situation, is from the beta that people ask for more game modes, and after 2 year nothing…… How on earth is so difficult to copy some game mode and paste it on some new maps?
And the characters situation? 1 new healing skill and 5 not so useful traits. It’s a shame that in 2 year i have paid more than an expansion in gems, and receive less than every other named mmo, but i’m sure it is my fault.
I think ArenaNet is under development meltdown as they try to fix the core systems of the game to ready the game itself for new content, likely one expansion.
What i know is, one expansion with the game systems like this without new major improvements on it, would be a move risking failure.

I can’t believe how the same company of the original series could screw up their sequel so badly, I actually feel like going back again.
Here’s to hoping ANet doesn’t do an expansion until their new PvP format is done, they make improvements to Obs mode and add a tourney playback feature, they handle PvP disconnects and 4v5s, the new race is done, new skills and traits are done, and most importantly implement PvP ladders.
Until then I look forward to LS season 2.

Cantha will not be part of the game. There is a book (Winds of Change) you can read in the Durmond Priory outpost in Divinity’s Reach. In the book, it was said that trade to Cantha was disrupted and then closed off so the other continents could deal with the Elder Dragons alone.

But… isn’t that how every other MMO on the market works? Isn’t that the actual expansion model? You get the game and you play it for a couple years then you get more game to play for another couple years?

You guys know when they launched in China Anets limitation for launch was 2 million players and it was filled before it even launched. Need to realized that maybe thats the reason things are quiet lately in NA and EU and no announcements yet for any big updates which suck honestly. Hope that we get something permanent though or just announcements of whats coming up.

So you’re griping about his reviews then displaying a review that complete agrees with him and yet saying he doesn’t know his stuff?
Yes, sometimes he can be immature, at least its in a comical way.
Yes, sometimes the scores reviewers give games are completely wrong. (to high or to low).
Angry Joe covers games quite extensively, especially big hyped up releases. Metacritic is garbage btw.
But here’s a hint: don’t look at scores and ratings, ever. Look at the actual review, and the things it says and shows, then make up your own mind. Ratings and scores don’t mean crap, by anyone, ever.
As for Skyrim, I’d give it a 10 now (not when released of course), I’ve had over 1000 hours of entertainment without plugins/expansions ALONE. With plugins and expansions…. so many hours played. A game that can provide that much entertainment is doing something right. And its single player.
ALL IS VAIN.
PvP modes are the “endgame” in all MMOs.

Exactly like the 2000+ word review / article by PC Gamer. Anyway if anyone is interested my rating for GW2 after thousands of hours of gameplay is a solid 7.5 for all content to date. I am not an experienced MMOer as I never played WoW but I have played a lot of games.
