Good evening everyone! Firstof all, I want to introduce myself. I’m Zanna, and I started playing this game a few months after its release! I open this topic not so much to make a real criticism, but only to take stock of the situation. Lately, and for a while ’time, me and some friends tried to bring our guild towards development. Initially, because we had not played for a long time, we expanded into serenity. The real problem, however, that has brought us several times to leave the game for a long time, was the excessive lack of actual content that might entice you to continue it. The more we reflect and we can find less motivation to continue this project, and less and less are the reasons that we can find to entice new members. The problems are fairly basic:
- The WvWvW There is impractical, because the members are scattered in different server, for obvious reasons, and many players standing or not turn up their noses at the idea of ??having to spend a considerable amount in 1000 as gems for the change
- The power up of the guild hall offer different features, which, however, are mostly minor and trivial (synthesizers are a prime example). For the bulk of the players, given the large resource demands, this is quite frustrating.
- The guild missions are few and largely are not very interesting. An example in this regard are the races, too few (4) and repetitive accordingly. In this regard it would be necessary to contemplate the idea of new types of mission!
- It would be necessary to create a tool which will enable the various players to see the list of existing guilds, the base language of the members, and maybe a small introductory message to allow you to describe. This will allow guilds to find members without spam.
- A little note about the game itself: it is obvious and frustrating to think that the game is called “Guild Wars” and there is the possibility to organize the so-called Guild Wars, except through PvP which is still limiting.
- The management of the events and the living story: basically the game from our point of view has taken a path to a farming all too accentuated. Each event can be summarized in: farm the event – Obtain tokens – buy the bject – repeat!
Normally this is a mechanical base for MMOs, but doing the math this process is very tedious if carried on for too long. Especially if the event in question is a season that in no way changes from earlier versions (Example, the Mad King)

And think about it there are still other details, but I think this base is more than enough.

Summary:
None of us is a game designer, and we are not here to criticize anyone’s job, but it is our only goal to help, is to allow us to continue to have fun together that encourage Arenanet to review some things. I want to point out also that our opinion is not sacred, for so we are really curious to talk about it! We hope that these few words might be helpful, and if necessary be a starting point for new winning ideas!

To your first point about WvW, you should be in a WvW guild if you want to WvW with your guild. It was pretty much a given that when the megaserver was introduced, you’d be in mixed guilds.

To your second point, I don’t really understand what you mean by a ‘power up’. Are you referring to harvesting nodes, decorations…?

Third point, I’m all for more variety in guild missions. My guilds rarely complete the PvE ones anymore and just focus on PvP missions. It’d be nice to see more types.

Fourth point, a guild list would be much appreciated. WoW had it and it was easy to sort through them all, but it felt a little impersonal and meta when it came to gameplay. Maybe if they put their own spin on it?

Fifth point, the game was called Guild Wars after events in the game’s history (source: The Guild Wars).

Last point, I both agree and disagree. Farming is a major part in any MMO (and some other games, too). And I kind of like how they’re doing it now, but there should be a bit less. Opinions may vary though.

Also, maybe you’re doing it wrong (when it comes to your guild)? There’s a lot of things you can do with a guild roster that don’t include in-game things. You could hold a fashion contest, do a crusade, do naked dungeon/fractal runs, personal festivals, giveaways…the list goes on. My guild does them frequently, and they’re a lot of fun.

Good morning everyone. I am a friend and fellow Guild of Zanna and like him I think the game has on deficiencies on some peculiar points (it’s clear I’m not here to impose my thoughts but to expose how the game could improve in net sense in my humble opinion).
1: WvsWWvsW is one of the End Game content (or Early game if you will) , most effective and powerful that this game has. So why not allow even if two friends are on different servers to be able to play together depending on the server you chose from the Guild of belonging regardless of the one chosen by the players? I am well aware that doing so all guilds unite winning server but at that point it would put a cap of guilds that can join that server.

2: Guild Hall: paradoxically, the haunt of Guild; the area in which members should spend more time ever together, is the most empty and boring out of Tyria. Everything you do is: farming materials, constructions or improvements, which although are satisfactory when you complete or make a structure it then has no utility whatsoever (except for the arena which although entertaining duel at the beginning gets boring in the long term). The cap is at level 69 ok what next? ArenaNet did not mention any expansion, improvement or addition of things that improve the experience of GH.

3: PvE. Here I get angry. I speak of course from PvE player; the fractal is an eternal Rince and Repeat to get what? the possibility of a reward BUT only to senior levels. The farming equipment necessary in order to make the ascended is a monetary bleed (I speak of course of the in game money) or (assuming you have enough materials) an infinite wait in order just to make fractal of higher level which in truth are just a version more difficult precedents where you are bound hand and foot and while a knocker to do damage to an enemy that kills you with just a smidge. It certainly can be a challenge and it’s also fun, but I want a certain reward at the end, not random things that will be destroyed to obtain materials that are worth very little. ArenaNet has not touched the dungeons that could have huge potential, both in terms of amount content that variety, to give content Endgame to robots that just to get a shiny sword (skritt are real i presume XD) do the same thing ad infinitum.

4 Gameplay and Meta: I always wondered why can’t I play a dragon hunter (with bow) condition damage? Simple because statistics and abilities of weapon won’t allow it: I’ll do an example to be more clear about what I mean: If you want to treat with the guardian (I’ll take it under consideration coz’ it’s my main character): you must have Staff/Mace and focus. But if I wanted to do crowd control with those weapons can’t because none of the skill of weapons do that.
Solution: it would enought for each weapon for each class (elite specialization included) gave you a roster of exchangeable abilities that allows you to do pretty much everything with the weapons you want. I know PvP would be a mess if this thing was real but you know what? Separate the PvP than PvE skills (this includes having a team that deals only with the pvp and I think arenanet has already). The statistics then: why do I have to gear me to make any content: either viper or berserker or marauder if I want to do damage, and I cannot for example gear me full tank/healer? Answer: healing power and toughness are almost useless, because or enemies explode even before you fight them or just laugh in your face and explode the party. Gw2 was the game that promised everyone can do everything but it seems to me that is not so true at the bottom. The raid is the only content that I saw being done well that requires organization and ability to know what you are doing with your class, but why the need of certain classes for complete that? ( example Chronomancer)

5 Crafting. A rince and repeat of farming , which makes sense since we speak of crafting but this should give you the chance to get money and instead is a major reason spending (I have already mentioned the fractal and the ascended, right?). Not to mention about leathers and cloth which are a nightmare to drop. could we just have a the possibility to harvest some from some animals or plants? ( jute and cotton, wool for example)

6 RPG: I state that I know to talk to that little slice of players from this wonderful community who do roleplay, but I had to smile when I saw the list in the LFG regarding Roleplay, only to then think to myself: Yes but the game doesn’t allow much interaction in this sense. I mean: we have the chairs but we couldn’t sit on it, we cannot exchange items if not by mail (this is not a problem but it happens that the object put longer to arrive than expected and roleplay stops), the characters can’t simulate drinking or eating when consuming food or drinks because you don’t have animations on purpose. This is not a post about controversy on this game is clear; Personally I love it, I love his fighting style, I love the story and the characters, I just wonder why Arenanet does not consider to expand the content you have and improve them instead of considering only things like the Fractals that ok they work but are redundant.

One last thing: If GW2 took into account even enter real Housing System (even inside the Guild Hall) decoratable also with objects (chairs, tables, etc) made by the scribes who should be sold at the trading post, not the bland home district in which you only resource nodes that make me (for a change), the game already would give something to do that doesn’t aggregate mandatorialy play events or kill another Dragon next to awakening.

Obviously this is the view of only one player, a player who loves the game as much as you love it and I’m sure if you look you will see that these factual flaws there are.

Sorry for the wall of text but I wanted to say all this.

Hope to see you in Tyria

My friend has introduced a much more detailed version of what we wanted to clarify with our opinions, but in any case I want to give the information requested:
- With “power up” I mean the Guild Upgrades, which as mentioned are very expensive for the features they provide.
- I want to point out that all the above activities from you, if you think about it, are all activities created solely to the creativity of the players, and it’s ok. But this also shows the fact that the game does not offer content that is native from this point of view, thereby leading to seek certain ploy to obviate this lack!

This is pretty much the point! I hope i was clear! :]

You’ve written a lot to take on all at once . I can’t touch in all your points directly but there is 2 major reasons it dissatisfaction I find among people I’ve played with .

They have fallen into the most common trap in the guild wars player base that is assuming rumors that a “meta build” is the absolute best . Including raid party members professions and their individual builds .

Free your mind from this trap and explore the real power you can gain by making the choice to learn for your self what your traits do .

How they interact with your weapon and armor stats .

How you can do massive condition damage even if your weapon skill doesn’t make the condition . how you can do massive healing with your crowd control weapon . In the same build . It can be done . I do it every day with my guardian .

The second most common trap is looking everything up on wiki or dullfy and then wondering why there is so little to do .

there is a great many puzzles in guild wars many styles of play .

You can do it with out looking it up .

… it will be so much more … fun? Emotionally rewarding? Satisfying ? I can’t think of the best word I am looking for perhaps I should look it up with online thesaurus?
