I’m currently patching my game… wasn’t expecting to see 11,000 files remaining! Is that the size of the patch or is there something wrong? This is what I get for logging on late trying to squeeze in an AC run before reset…

Yes it’s 11,000 files, out of 200K that composes the gw2.dat file. The patch itself is around 440MB. The % done is by number of files and not overall size.

Huh… looking at the miniscule patch notes, I’m having a hard time imagining what all that file bloat was allocated towards.

I suspect a lot of it is also files that aren’t being applied right this instant and are instead assets to be used at a later date. Putting in data for future patches in a current one is fairly common, especially in MMO development.

Most likely the majority of those files replace ones that already exists and may only have minor updates.
