Is there a reason to come back to game?
If none of the new features or content seem appealing to you, then I would guess not.
Good luck.
Fun? I mean, thats why people play games in the first place…
Anyways, Hot is going to have a good story, elite specs, masteries, revamped fractals, raids, and legendary backpacks and armor, as well as revamped pve, new WvW borderlands, and a new pvp gamemode… But if you don’t enjoy it you don’t have t play… It would be a waste of time to leave tho
The expansion pack does not look exciting to me. Is there any reason at all to re-invest my time in this game?
I think you have your answer. Either you want to try the new features though you don’t feel excited for them or you are not able to find yourself any motivation to try them out.
Nobody can do that for you, I’m afraid there is no answer to your question… it has to come from you.
Invest time? I have played since Beta and head start and still play almost every day. I don’t “invest time” I play to have fun and escape from RL for a few.
I have several medical problems and the medical community is just finding out what I have known for quite a while. Gaming can and does lesson the pain level so that fewer pain pills need to be taken.
I guess I was wanting to know if there are also any new features that maybe I overlooked. I just don’t have time right now to go through 6 months of patch notes and upcoming changes.
The fastest way to find out is to test it for yourself.

I think the best way to get some sort of answers is to wait for the expansion to be released and for players to have tried the new features, because right now we don’t have more information than you.
If you do that provide some sort of list of what you disliked or what you expect so that players will be able to tell you if you can find it or not.
Based on this you’ll be able to think about returning or not.

The trait changes to specialisations ready for the new elite specialisations are the only significant gameplay changes in 6 months that I recall.
From the way you phrased your question I would say no. There isn’t a reason to come back right now. Check back after the expansion hits and see if it sounds good enough then.
ANet may give it to you.

Here are the upcoming new features: http://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com/
As far as recent updates/features, there is a new LA with a scavenger hunt, a complete rework of the Traits/Skills implementation, and assorted odds and ends, I guess.
Your choice. Good luck.

Lets not forget about that black lion key farm nerf.. only 1 key per week at low level story.
raids, we get raids, RAIDS! So yeah, come back
If you haven’t found anything else more appealing then why not?
If you have found something more appealing then what are you still doing here?
There isn’t anything I can think of where I can say they’ve definitely made a vast improvement to it. Traits are better now but mostly because that is partially because they messed it up the previous time and there is some lost of flexibility with the new system. Zero changes to dungeons. Insignificant changes to world bosses. Bugs … ugh. It’s the same old guild wars 2 that you love or hate.
Any change in HoT? Well masteries will give you reasons to grind exp forever if you are into that sort of thing. There is going to be some content gated behind those masteries as well.

Not really a significant change though that has widely affected the game and most players as a whole
- I think the trait/specialization system is super fun to play around with, and overall improved a lot of traits that were lackluster before.
- The new and improved Lion’s Arch is pretty great as well. At least come check that out, and track down all the karkas!
- There’s a beta for PvP Stronghold mode this weekend! I think it’s supposed to be open for everybody…
I have been away from the game for about 6 months now. Is there any reason for me to come back?
If you have to ask, the answer is always going to be “no.” If there was something you liked in the past, it’s worth coming back to see if the stuff you didn’t is less important now.
There are lots of new things in the game, lots of improved mechanics (or at least evolved mechanics), but the fundamentals of the game haven’t changed.
On the other hand, it’s completely free to come back, so it won’t cost you anything except your time to check it out.
how do you have 12 level 80s, half the classes are so boring
Mesmer is unfun to play against and does everything better than thieves.
Hoping those two get gutted with nerfs

What I’ve already done:
1) I have 12 characters at level 80
2) I have created 3 legendary weapons
3) I have ‘Dungeon Master” Title
4) Was level 50 FOTM reward level
5) Was around 20,000 Achievement Points when I left (I think)The expansion pack does not look exciting to me. Is there any reason at all to re-invest my time in this game?
Give it a shot, find inspiring and fun people to play with and you’ll soon figure out if you like it or not.
