I logged in right away when the mastery system was introduced and put all my points to Pact Commander, and the basically didn’t play for months.
I started playing again now but I regret spending my points that way, is there a way to reset them?

No, you can’t reset them.

There isn’t. Being able to reset them would remove any “value” to them as you could just get enough to swap around.

That makes sense I guess,
there could have been a 1-time only reset or something tho.
Any way, thanks (:

Would still be the same. You could get all the benefit from one mastery track and then reset it to go towards another. Although most masteries are not all that useful. Fortunately there are plenty of excess mastery points so it’s not like players cannot max all of them.

I’m having a hard time getting points in the central tyria category :/
Maguuma points are indeed easy to get tho.

I’m surprised you are regretting Pact Mastery. True AutoLooting is, for me, the most valuable thing in the Central Tyria tracks. In retrospect, I wish I had worked on that first (I focused on Fractals, because that’s where I spend the most time).

It is not too hard to get enough Mastery points for
Full Fractal Masteries
+ Full Pact Commander Masteries

  • You should do the personal story first if you havent done that
  • Do the Triple Trouble + Tequatl + Karka Queen Achievements they can be done really easy when you join a community ts server for an organized event
  • Finish the many fractals of the mists achievements that give mastery points … most of them are rather easy and you just need to wait for the necessary fractal to be daily and then ask nicely in your group if they are willing to do the achievement of that fractal level with you
  • Jumping Puzzles: Retrospective Runaround & Hidden Garden —> they both give an easy mastery point
  • Finish all dungeon story instances
  • last thing would be 5 possible points in the Silverwastes for killing each of the 4 randomly spawning legendary bosses once … this is easy but can take a while because it just depends on luck if the boss you need (or any boss at all)

THIS. Autoloot is love, autoloot is life! I only maxed Pact Commander and Fractals because I am not interested in Legendaries.

It’s not “ANet logic.” The masteries are tied to abilities to do things. If they were resettable then someone could get enough for one mastery line only and switch them around but keep the progress from having multiple lines filled.

For example, they could fill the Legendary crafting line, get a Legendary from that. Remove the points (but keep the Legendary) and use them for fractal advancement. Then when not doing fractals they could use the points for the pack master mastery and the auto loot feature. If the points were resettable then there is no need to do more content other than the bare minimum needed for one mastery line.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

FWIW, there are more mastery points than needed to buy all the masteries.

Also, Pact Commander is actually the bestest mastery line in core to own, because auto-pickup of loot, and access to the pact supply vendors allows access to high value map rewards for the most efficient karma to gold conversion.
