Guild Wars 2

Hello guys, since now i understand this product no longer meets the launch specifications its time for me to move on, this is a honest question and i would like honest answears, im not looking for trolling nor i am angry at this point anymore, now that i got official confirmation the way this game is heading i no longer can play it gw1 style, so my question right now is:

Can i find a game like gw1? where i can reach max gear and max stats in a matter of few days and stay max stats forever?
I want all the classes, thats waht i was doing in GW1, i had all 10 classes fully leveled and maxed up in gear, i was having a blast with that game for over 4 years, i would like to see something similar to it, thats why i bought GW2, at first i didnt like the fact that i had to waste around 1 week to get a fully leveled char and then work out on exotic which could also take more than a couple of days, but ive tought that since its max stats its NP and i can live with that, so if u find any alternative game to this i would welcome it alot, it can even be from ANET.

Ty tumbero for your advice, even though 1 good game alternative would be all that i required, i will like to wait a bit more and see if other people can come up with more alternatives (like event guys asking for collectables xD)

Same thing bro. GW 2 is nice, but another expansion would make me run back to GW 1 even if GW 2 was a P2P game

I dont know bout you guys but this mmo called RIFT is the closest to GW1 in terms of Skill Combinations. But over there they called it Souls Combination.
But its specific to a class. For example a War cant use Mage skills for his build.
Unlike GW1 its all around skills combination.

But be warned! RIFT is a grindfest… but they are easing up on the grind with the recent Storm Legion Expansion. Meaning new players could level up faster than before and get new items or equipment that is way powerful than those who had maxed it out before the Expansion.

rift is a complete and utter treadmill…if you dont like what little power curve this game is creating you will HATE Rift. Oh..and its gated too..by several factors across the different roles for classes.

Sounds like you want to play an adventure game or some sort of single player rpg with online like gw1 or a diablo. Dark Souls is pretty good.

GW1 was/is one of the best MMOs ever (in my opinion)… I loved it! If you found something better, I’d be really impressed.

yeah but the amount of time it takes to obtain your weapon skills locks you into a game mode of holy trinity although the game boosts that you can play any way, it just take s a ridiculous amount of time to get to that point which can only be done by dungeon grinding because content is so small (at least when I was playing it at release)

internet ruined that game because it’s too easy to obtain answers to the best feature of that game

As of right now, I doubt there is.
With luck, after you and me and everybody else on the GW1 bandwagon -that is sick and tired of having to keep chasing carrots and having to spends tens if not hundreds of hours grinding to equip alts so we can have game play diversity- abandon this game it will be a big enough bleep for some other company to step in.

There can’t be that many of us. Surely someone is intelligent enough to come along and want to take our money, and keep taking it after 3 months.

No leveling in the traditional sense, but the “end game” has the usual gear grind. Filling out the skill wheel would mean grinding out the same quests over and over. There’s not a whole lot to do in that game either, once you finish the (admittedly pretty cool) storyline it’s your standard MMO, and not very well done at that.

Yeah, while I think Rift is by far the best WoW-clone I’ve played, it’s still a gear treadmill WoW-clone.

GW2 was supposed to NOT be this, which I why I (and quite a few people) are here.

I don’t know why Ascended has to have better base stats than Exotics. They could have just made Ascended gear identical (in every way) to Exotics, but with an added Infusion slot, and I don’t think there’d be much of an outcry. You would only need Ascended gear to do FotM (because they’d only be best in slot inside the Fractals), and if you had no interest in the Fractals, you could just ignore them.

I haven’t played Dark Souls yet, but Demons Souls was absolutely amazing.

The Secret World has it’s own set of problems. It’s Funcom, take that as you will. But if you’re thinking of playing it, I say play it until you complete the story.

Implementation aside, the gameplay and skill system will remind a lot of you of GW1. The story and the overall world lore however is excellent and is good enough to warrant a purchase and however long it takes for you to complete it. Then unsubscribe if you feel you have nothing left to do.

GW2 IS the closes thing to GW1 other then that your asking for an offline game. Even Dark Souls have a soul grind with a bit of a upgrading gear its just part of gaming all of it. If you just want a story game with no grind go read a book.

I’m pretty much an exclusive PvE player, and playing PS2 with a focus on repairing turrets and healing teammates is a sufficient replacement. I don’t feel like spending any money on games at the moment.

Infusions have stats other than infusion resistance. It would’ve taken the community a bit longer to realize the treadmill, but there would’ve still been an outcry.

True, forgot about that.

Why are people so mad about ascended items when that’s not even one of the major problems with this game, and no there is nothing like GW1 and the reason not everyone is running back to it is no updates or content, devs haven’t balanced pvp in eons and pve is a joke as well. I go back to VQ once in a while but playing a dead game is not fun.

What GW2 is missing is the main elements of GW1, not just no grind, but lots of skills and builds, missions, free trait changes, saved templates, etc. I’m more pissed that combat is just so linear and you can only change out your utilities to mix it on up classes like the thief. I mean really, could they have made that profession any more lame?

GW2 is no different than WoW in the respect that you will most likely choose a talent build and play that for an entire expansion. Boring much.
