I just can’t seem to find the point anymore. I do the PvP dailies because reward tracks but even then … I feel like I am missing the something that I need to see in order to make myself want to do them.

Definitely only a couple of them that I’ll go out of my way to complete. But I’m sure there are people who like them so they don’t have to do pvp/wvw for their daily achievement points.

If you only do PvE then there’s obviously a point in getting your 3 dailies done in PvE for the spirit shards / AP.

If you’re getting your 3 done elsewhere, though… yah, there aren’t really many PvE rewards that give anything worthwhile on their own outside of that. The harvesting ones are OK since sometimes you get some rarer / more expensive items out of it, and Mystic Forger is OK for an extra coin since they don’t drop quite as often as they used to. And Fractals dallies are nice for extra relics if you only run them once in a while. Beyond that, meh.

Dailies, as much as I despise massive herd events in low-level zones with mobs melting before they spawn, are pretty much a way to get AP. I used to do the dailies in World V but the HoT “upgrade” on top of pirate ship pretty much killed that interest. I’m not otherwise big on PvP, though — no value judgment on anyone else, just me — were I to do them in PvP, I’d not want to use the take-turns rooms.

Since there’s almost nothing except AP I’m never likely to get (like the LS S2 story repeat AP, or Giant Slayer), PvE dailies feed ever so slowly into the 500 point chests, which in turn provides an oh-so-slight enhancement to the reward-by-tiny-increments which is mostly what this game offers.

I only do dailies for the AP. Once I reach the AP cap on dailies later this year I will never do any of them again. The only ones I end up completing will be by chance. Because f this, that is what I believe the purpose of dailies is- a steady income of AP provided you log in every day and the cap is there so it won’t be for your entire gw2 life that you have to do achievements that you don’t want to every single time you log in.

We only need to do three though. that usually means a forager, or lumberer, or vista, and then one PvP game is enough to get the other of of defender/capturer/killer. I do it for the AP. But kinda wish I had been into them to have reached the cap already.

You have something to do, you get 10 AP and some small rewards. Not that bad.

The gathering daily has a decent shot of giving you some T6, regardless of level.

Vista’s nice for some instant karma.

Because not everyone enjoys PvP.

I don’t think that the OPs point is that there should be one or the other.

It is that fulfilling any of the PvP daily achievements also meets the requirements for a noticable portion of PvP rewards and/or reward progress. While the majority of the PvE daily achievements, do not contribute to a noticeable amount of PvE rewards or reward progress.

Except the 3 tabs for dailies are PvE, PvP and WvW (aka PvP with PvE equipment). If you say PvE is worthless that only leaves PvP.

But PvE does, depending give you mats, karma and those 5% experience writs which you can turn 20 into a leveling tome. Now if you think that’s enough great. But I don’t like PvP. It’s not a fun activity for me to be schooled by 12 year olds hopped up on energy drinks. WvW is fun but it’s a tad dead there now and all you get is a 20 minute XP/WP booster and 10 WvW whatever … tokens … badges.
