They’ve already made a public statement that the mod is illegal.

If you make a whole macro command that enables your character to kill / farm things without requiring any input from you while you AFK, that is bannable.

I don’t recall them ever say it was allowed.
When it was first brought to their attention, the response was, “Anything that does X and gives players an advantage is not allowed”. At that point I don’t think they were familiar enough with the mod for a verdict, so we were given a blanket answer. For the most part everyone pro-Mod was splitting hairs of whether this gave anyone the edge. Later on ANet said in no uncertain terms that the mod did breach terms of use and wasn’t allowed.

If I had to remove it I would I just need to know. Also I don’t understand why it should be a bannable offense. All I use it for is to my skill 1 on my left mouse button and roll on my right mouse key.
There is a mod out, and tons of players use it, kinda makes the game play like tera, and anet did not say it was not allowed.

I would so very much like it if the game got something like this added though. I dislike holding down my right mouse button all the time when I’m running and looking around and I would like to always have my pointer always start in the middle of the screen when I do want to manually click on something instead of having to make sure it is in the middle before I hold down the mouse button again.
I would also like to be able to assign my mouse 1 and 2 buttons to my choosing. I don’t quite have that option as is.

Is Combat Mode Legal?
Forum Mods have said in the past that all 3rd party mods are illegal, however this is not the case. As Gaile Gray, a dev at Arena Net explains here. Its not that they dont approve of mods, its that they dont have the time and resources to approve of each specific mod, and dont want to be held responsible if a mod has malicious code and something goes wrong.
Mods are not allowed if they alter game files, or automate any action. Combat Mode does neither of these, it just alters the keys your mouse sends to the game client, and every click performs a 1:1 action in game. Mods that give the user and advantage are also illegal, but as many have pointed out, Combat Mode gives a slight disadvantage if anything, as you cant put Ground target abilities out of LoS or directly behind your character.
That’s AN’s official and highest authority response on the matter. If you’re not comfortable using CM for any reason, DO NOT USE IT.

I dont know about the linked mod, but this one should be ok. It only maps 1 button to 1 action so according to statements made, it’s “probably” fine.

Yes, but you can’t guarantee there is the thing. Among all the issues Anet is having right now they ll have to certify each mod to guarantee account safety.
