A few days ago, I came a cross a group of 5 rangers, wearing identical outfit, same bear pet. They move in synchronized motion (like a train) and running up and down in a very deserted part of Cursed Shore.

What’s interesting is, I’m pretty sure that gotta be some kind of bot, but the lead character seems to be control by human, not bot. (because he walked up to a mithril node and farmed it) Just the other 4 characters have to be bots mirroring the control on the lead character. I’m pretty sure this kind of “power leveling” is against policy. I would love to report it but I don’t know how this would help? If I report the lead character, I don’t know if Anet can see he’s controlling other 4 bots, or do I report everyone of them? I don’t wanna accuse someone without proof and get banned for that. But why the report player (botting) function doesn’t let u attach a screenshot?

I haven’t file a report on this guy yet, and I’ve been seeing him there for 3-4 days. But I did take multiple screenshots. What should I do?

Report it. And yes, that’s botting.

Report it.

Doesn’t much matter. Bot situation gets worse and worse and ANet isn’t really doing much except talking. No point in wasting a lot of your time on it.

The reporting feature does suck – you can’t even add a comment. You just have to assume ANet will figure things out. Yeah, that’s gonna happen.

Report them all. It’s up to Anet to decide whether or they are bots, but by the sounds of it they are. You see groups of rangers with bears everywhere, donning the same gear dyed the same colors.

Report them and move on, that’s what I always do.

I don’t think you’d get banned for reporting a possible bot group. Just because one of them is human, I’d think automating four others is surely botting. Do what you think is right. Anet can’t fault you for wanting a better game environment.

That set-up, of a player-controlled character leading a party of bots is familiar to players of other NCSoft games.

From my experience, NCSoft games support botting, altho they’ll talk PR for NA/EU games about fighting bots. Automated gameplay is accepted in the culture there.

Anyhow, regardless what profession or dye job they have, it’s the non-standard-client software that’s breaking the rules. Report it.

I used to get at least 3 gold seller e-mails every day.
I’ve gotten none for a long time now.

Arenanet has definitely started banning, but they ban in waves instead of one by one.
So basically they put all the accounts they’ve confirmed as botters on a huge list one by one, and once there’s a ton of bots on it… BAM!
They all get banned at the same time.

This way botters can’t easily adapt to find out ways to bypass detection.
Much how Valve’s VAC bans can have 1 month or more delay, despite being automatic.

I dunno about NCSoft, but Arenanet has been banning bots in GW1 for years.
