First sorry for my english hope you understand what I try to say.
This is not a rant or I’m not saying GW2 is bad.

I came from a long break(again) and bought HoT. So far I haven’t found anything interesting except the cinematics and the story. I haven’t tried Raids yet but from what I have seen from videos it reminds me of doing arah (Lupicus mainly) but instead of 5 people you do it with more people? A huge “hard” boss to do with a team. And what is the reward? What I saw from videos it wasn’t impressive. What they guy on video got was crafting materials and some exotic helmet. Why would I need that? I got like 4-5sets for my character already. Craft what? Acsended armour? For 5% stat increase? Acsended weapons I understand is a bit more than 5% stronger and imo worth getting.

I can’t get satisfaction from a game which doesn’t let you to develop your character. I have had same gear (except accesories) since a week after headstart. I have spent a lot of time making my character look as cool as I can be. Gear reflecting the name. But I have achieved what I want from the looks a long time ago and I don’t really look for a game that doesn’t give your character to advance in strength but instead mostly what you can do is get equipment skins aka the visuals or looks of the items.

I have played 3000ish hours which was mostly either fractals/guild events or just chatting in town. Last being the thing I really did the most as people seemed to fear, yes… FEAR dungeons. Specially Lupicus which btw is pretty kitten easy as soon as you calm down. They feared it even if I told I do not care if they don’t know how to run it, I told I will teach them. I told them that I do not care if the run fails but no I had to keep telling same kitten for hour or two till they came. But this ofc is not the GW2’s fault.
I also have fair amount spent in WvWvW and a bit in sPvP. WvWvW was probably my favorite thing in GW2 but things tends to get repetitive after a while. Specially in WvWvW where people mainly follows a commander and kills each other or builds what commander says. I don’t think that is a bad thing but just can get boring after a while. I main a Warrior(See you guys in Valhalla!) which I heard is mainly a weight on PvP team’s shoulders. So PvP atm is not an option.
Had world 100% discovered before HoT came

PvE is unsatisfying as my character can not advance and develop anymore. Loot is useless for me. All I can do with my gold is make my character look cooler. But doesn’t matter how much gold I would have, no matter how much PvE I would grind my character would never get stronger than it is now, except if I get the amazing 5% stat increase from acsended armor.

I have made the other profession characters and leveled the ones I liked/loved to 80 and geared them and made them look pretty.

Do you have any suggestions what could I do in GW2? Did I overplay the game? Even HoT doesn’t seem to give a reason to come back to GW2

Attached the imo pretty characters of mine

I dunno. Replayablility in this game for me usually involves making and leveling up alts. I do maps and the story on multiple characters.

There was a time when I was only playing 1 character, and once I had ascended gear for her and 100% map completion, I did some events around the world with her, but I quickly got bored. So I get the non-progression thing to a degree.

After taking some time off from the game (due to the aforementioned boredom) I came back and made some alts. Without alts, I honestly don’t know how I’d ever stay busy in this game.

So you dont have the top gear in the game, yet you are complaining about lack of stat progresion?
You haven’t done the raids, yet you are complaining about them being as easy as lupicus (and good luck finding a group with your full exo char).
As for pvp warriors are no longer meta so either adapt and learn to play another class or get used to losing and getting flamed.5% stat increase might not seem much but it turns into 10+% dps increase which is huge in raids.
Sure you might be burned out from the game so either take a break or play some mode you haven’t played before (learning a new class in pvp is quite fun esp now that leagues are here).

If a constant treadmill of ever increasing stats is what appeals to you, and exotic to ascended isn’t enough of an increase, then GW2 definitely is not the game for you.

It’s highly unlikely we’ll get a new tier of equipment any time in the foreseeable future, even in the next expansion, assuming there is one. Ascended was controversial enough, I can’t imagine it’d go over well if they did that again.

So there’s not going to be any new equipment for you to work towards, except for new stat combinations at existing rarities.

Worth trying wow if you want gear progression ,been around for a long time but with all the changes over the years its basically wow 2 by now and still easily the best of that type of MMO.

As gw2 has no monthly fee its easy to play in combination with other MMOs so its worth trying what else is out there often i find it makes me realize what a good thing we have with gw2 .

I see you don’t have the energy to read long texts. I do not have to enter a raid to see if it is hard or easy if I have seen it in a video. I’m not full “exo”. No it’s not huge dps increase. Raids have what 10 players? 10% inc on one person would mean 1% increase of 10man raid dps. Every class should be found in meta. I liked the guardian dragonhunter skills but as you need freaking 250 skill points to unlock the fun part of guardian… maybe I skip that possibility.

I did try wow but that is less cup of my tea than GW2. But yea I like games like that so I tried and loved Archeage till I realized it is P2W

That sounds to me as if this isn’t the right game for you — it was designed so that once you can max out your gear (full exotic or ascended, depending on your interests). Personally, I love that, since it means that all the progression I do in this game is personal. That is, in order for me to do better, I have to get better; it’s not enough to get better gear, as it is in other games.

I am constantly trying to challenge myself by trying out more difficult situations, going solo or duo, or stuff that (as you say) used to scare me.

If that doesn’t appeal to you, then yeah, I’d suggest taking a break and turning to some other game. You might return to GW2, realizing in retrospect what you like about it or you might end up strongly preferring the other style and never return.

Good luck — I hope it ends up being an easy choice to make.

Huh, you are kinda explaining the exact thing I’ve felt since returning to the game right before HoT. I’ve spent the time since HoT came out re-experiencing the joys I left behind 3 years ago. Long story short, the content is the same yet worse than it was before. Things have been changed to make the game really RNG (run and gun)…..so the depth and features have disappeared from alot of it. I don’t know what your time gap was….what kind of gw2 you came from and reappeared infront of. But I can tell you with the vanilla game over 3 years: there is pretty much no new content with the exception of a new lion’s arc skin, a couple new fractals (nothing amazing), ascended weapon(cheap legendary)/armour, and a new WvsW borderlands map (desert bl). That’s pretty much it in terms of new content over a 3 year period.
In terms of what was taken out from 3 years ago….alot has disappeared to favour RNG and it’s quite sad. To name a few: armour repair cost, dungeon difficulty, WvsW is broken, wintersday and halloween were the same events but restricted to tiny zones not appearing in WvsW or over the pve zones/maps like before.

The pve content from HoT is….nothing new from what we’ve already done. It’s like when you had to clear a low level zone for map completion, it’s the same old stuff you’ve done over and over. It’s just a grind. You grind and grind through content you’ve already done…that is also broken since HoT. You learn similar stuff you’ve already done and then grind through that content like you’ve already done. And you max your gear and then look for skins…again. Stand too long in 1 spot and the server kicks you. No sense of community or heart with these megaservers and the RNG system.
So what can you expect with HoT over the next 3 years if you spend it here? More of the same is a pretty good guess.

That’s my take on things as a fellow warrior.

I kill you in one gunflame, or I kill you in two.

To think of it I always laughed at hamsters and other such animals runing in a treadmill and here I’m doing the same thing.
This is bothering me more than it should ._. But in my defense I want real rewards from doing bosses

If you wanted character advancements through stats, no, this game isn’t for you because the last time they tried to do that with Ascended gear, that riled up the playerbase for months. The entire franchise was built on opposing the gear grind.

If you want character progression through unlocking new skills, sadly no, not on that front either. They don’t want to split PvP from PvE and so they rarely add new skills because as you can see from the expansion, that tends to wreck PvP balancing.

And raids are nothing like Arah. Lupicus is hard but you can get carried and all the mechanics are essentially dodge the red circles. Raids place more individual responsibility on players (especially on the 3rd boss, where 1 weak link in the group could easily lead to a wipe) to perform their own assigned roles and mechanics are more complicated.
