Maybe. Depends on how you play and whether or not you are still outfitting alts. It took my quite a long time and a fair amount of gold to get full exotics for 8 level 80s. I didn’t start accumulating gold till I was done with that.

To make money you have to farm, flip items in the trading post or run dungeons. If you just wander around you don’t make gold worth mentioning.

You need to say what you do with your play time for anyone to say.

That depends on what you’ve been doing in that time. If you’ve been running dungeons, lots of PvE on level 80 characters or even doing WvW then no.

If you’ve been doing PvP the whole time (which only recently started awarding gold) or afk in cities then yes.

If it was as simple as logging in for X amount of hours and getting lots of money and rare items then everyone would ‘farm’ by leaving their characters logged in while they were at work and we’d all be rich.

I have no idea if I’m normal but I’m on 4K+ hours have no legendary or map completion and have currently an impressive 1 gold 20 silver.

Which is eye-opening as I didn’t have GW2 down as a game I really played that much.

It also depends on what else you’ve got.

My most expensive item is ‘only’ worth about 70g, but I don’t know what it is because I have 4 or 5 worth about the same so I’d have to check the TP to see which is most valuable. If I added up everything on my account even though I don’t have any really expensive items it would probably total a few hundred gold.

But more importantly I’ve got stuff I want. I recently got a new weapon set on my ranger and I went for the Warden Sword and Zenith Torch skins on WvW exotics. They’re not super-rare or valuable, they’re not even the most expensive or rarest skins I could get. But they’re ones I like that look good on my character.

Not sure about hours logged but been playing most evenings since launch with no significant break and I have one level 80, no map completion (70%) no legendary and about 4 gold.

I consider myself to be fairly normal.

I would say that’s fairly normal, except a lot of players would not have played that amount of hours.

The amount of money you have reflects how unrewarding GW2 is for the average player and Anet have overall nerfed how much gold players will have after the 15.4.14 features patch. Those poor Chinese players who will never know any better!
