Q:
For the Devs.. i’m curious…
There is a lot of post everywhere now about this, and we want to avoid the wave of banned accounts again :-)
Is not an exploit, is not a MOD or something like that. The bug is well known.

I would hazard a guess of an obviously yes.
I would assume such an exploit is client side only, But still. understandable if it is. Sounds funny though lol I guess people have their kicks any way they can get em….

Is that why my Sylvari was naked except for her leaves after coming out of the newbie zone? The guy next to me was naked too.
And if by “using” you mean gaining some unfavorable advantage via the exploitation of said bug, then yes, it’s bannable. Just because it’s well known doesn’t mean the definition of exploit changes.

hmmm then maybe not. I guess. I would then guess a bug patch/quick fix will be out soon to fix it.
There’s also that famous school of thought to consider: If you have to ask, it’s probably not allowed.

Besides getting “distracted” of the bug, there is nothing more about it. When you transmute the skin of some specific kind this happens. Only affects appeareance.

In my country, we have a phrase: “Quien avisa no es traidor” .. somethings like “Forewarned is forearmed” (?)
No I believe the tree race of people come out of the dream naked or in thier appropriatly placed leaves only. Right after that you talk to someone and they give you the clothing colored the way you chose in character creation. Sorry that was off topic from the original question I believe.
Why would it be bannable? You can’t gain anything from it (except maybe some more accurate “fan art”).

This is just how the Sylvari starting zone works. As soon as you talk to the first guy with the green blip, you get your armor. I never bothered to follow the lore, but I expect it has something to do with just emerging all new and shiny from the Tree and waking from the Dream, where in you would be all naked Matrix-style for the first few minutes.

Basically. When you start a new Sylvari toon it’s your birthday, literally, and so you’re wearing your birthday suit.
I doubt it’s bannable. And there really isn’t anything obcene visible.
It is 100% ban-able. Per ANET on reddit post:
“Basically, anything that touches the game client in any fashion, including but not limited to visuals, overlays, controls, inputs, outputs, automation, sounds, or play experience is going to be referred to as a mod. The Guild Wars 2 software package is meant to be delivered and used AS-IS, with zero flexibility for the end user. If your script changes anything about the game itself, how it’s displayed, or how it’s played, then it’s forbidden 3rd-party software.”

Post on official forums with ANET backing up the reddit post when “Combat Mode 1.0” was questioned about being ban-able:

Where did anyone say it was a mod?
Never heard of this bug…
going by Anet’s reputation, they will ban you even if the fault lies on their end. If you’re character is bugged and you play the character, it’s a bannable offense.
Well.. aparently was fixed in the las patch:
* Armor that is currently equipped can no longer be transmuted.
If it’s just transmuting items that are normally available in game, then I don’t see it as being an issue.
technically it’s an exploit, and a bug, but I doubt ANet are gonna start throwing around bans for glitching your gear so you appear naked, it’s not like I can’t do that by removing my gear anyway.
Are client-side aesthetics moddings bannable?
Are they even detectable?
Quite simply yes. Reason? well the game is rated age 12 and above, i’m not sure about any other country, but here in the UK any game with any kind of nudity must be 18+, so considering there could be 12 year olds playing this game, Anet will not allow people to run around nude.
