Guild Wars 2

Well , after grinding dungeons for eons and finally making enough for dusk , wasn’t going to do the same for zap , so thought I’d just try my luck for zap in the forge when I saved a chunk of gold each time… After throwing over 2000g in over the last few months and getting nothing , and hearing a bunch of friends who have done the same get nothing , throwing more in then me , is it even possible??? I know people who have gotten every other pre in there and no-one who has got zap.

The price of pre’s is ridiculous , and the forge being the only other way to get them is the most stupid idea I’ve seen in a game , well done on that.

I’m trying to see the reasoning behind it , I saw a list of the top mmo’s earnings and gw2 was nowhere to be seen , you’re not making money so why don’t you change the way it works?? Bring some people back? Or is anet happy to mooch of the few suckers that are still dumb enough to blow money on gems for keys and the odd poorly designed skin every month or so?

I’ve loved this game since release but I just don’t see the point anymore, it’s become boring and stale , sad really kitten much potential has been missed.

At least make the f*&^% things craftable like you said you would months and months ago… I know nobody cares and no-one from anet will even see this but I’m done with the same pointless grind. Judging by the figures I mentioned earlier so are a lot of other players…

Start giving a fk about the people who support you’re game please , and actually listen to what they want.

While I agree with you as far as precusor goes, there are factual errors in your statement.

The list of game earnings you’ve seen was only for games that have subscriptions or optional subscriptions. Guild Wars 2 wasn’t on that list, because it didn’t meet the criteria for the list. Looking at earnings reports, you’d see that Guild Wars 2 would have fallen into 5th place as far as earnings go, about halfway up the list.

If this game is just about precusors and legendaries to you, not much anyone can do about it.

But I do think Anet needs to find a way to get precusors into the game in other ways.

Not just about the legendary , and while my post made me sound kitten as I’m tired , I just don’t know what else to do in the game… so I started just slowly working on another legendary , as there’s nothing to do , living story is a complete joke , I’ve ran that many fractals and every dungeon they have just become stale , I’m mainly pve , the wvw/pvp side of things while fun at times , just doesn’t hold me for long. People ask for more dungeons and we get aetherblade? Not many want to spend 2+ hours on 1 dungeon path…

Anet was working on a solution but other changes made to the game set them back on it, for the precusor crafting. They did post about that. They’re back to square one.

Looks like you’re in a demographic that this game wasn’t likely made to cater too, from my point of view. I don’t personally think the living story is a joke. And I could care less about dungeons (even though I’ve done them all).

Precursors have gotten out of control but to play devil’s advocate, you shouldn’t gamble away what you can’t accept to lose. I mean if you threw over 2k gold in a few months, if you had just saved up all that, you could have bought 2 precursors. The MF is just a pit of broken dreams and heartache.

As for top earning MMOs, it’s no surprise WoW is #1 and 5 of the top 10 are Korean grindfest games which again is no surprise as Asians love grindy games.

I mean I played Lineage 2 for a long time and loved it.

Lineage 1 is only in korea.

Aion was fun for a bit but was mostly a gankfest game.

Tera had a horrible community and was nothing more than just a grinder. It made grinding for precursors in this game seem like childs play if you ever played it and made a +12 MW weapon plus armor.

SWTOR back when I played only had a like 2 or 3 raid zones and a handful of dungeons, not too much grinding from what I remember.

LOTRO had a couple raids and dungeons but overall was rather boring unless you were into the whole RP of Middle Earth.

Rift was just too easy to level and really didn’t offer anything as all classes could do everything so it seemed rather generic but I only played about 2 months as that’s about how long it took for me to max a couple characters and run a bunch of dungeons and get bored.

Making precursors craftable is a slippery slope as if they did then you know kitten well that T6 mats would shoot through the roof. I mean look at T6 bloods, they are already about 60s each. Imagine if they made craftable precursors, the bloods would probably double if not triple in price as well as all the other T6 mats as well as ectos and anything else associated with making a legendary. So it’s kind of pick your poison, have outrageous priced precursors or have outrageous priced mats and needing 2000 of just those T6 mats alone in that case would probably cost double what a precursor costs now. The only difference is precursors are a big chunk of cash upfront at once where as mats can be picked up 1 at a time.

When you put it like that I guess you’re right. I could have saved my gold and bought it , but as I said I’m just bored and thought I’d just see if I could get 1 in the forge as there’s nothing much else keeping me interested , some friends of mine play the game , only reason I play really , to hang with them. Guess I just need to take a break.

Sounds like a break would be a pretty good idea.

I’ve been enjoying trying to get to tier 5 in Drytop lately. It’s my favorite zone in the game to date.

I hear ya, I’ve been so tempted to try the mystic forge for kittens and giggles since I’ve already made 6 legendaries and the only other one that even remotely interests me is Bifrost but then I remember all the horror stories I’ve read about the MF and decide to spend the gold on kitten and booze in Rata Sum!!! Get me some of that midget love!!!

That complete joke gave me Zap as a random drop during season one, in one of the invasions in Timberline, so I kind of disagree, Living story is fun

I just got zap out of the forge with an assortment of dungeon exotic weapons about a week ago. It is possible.

Any spare dungeon tokens I have, I turn into either swords or daggers depending on which precursor sells for more at the time. I got Zap about a month ago from 4 exotic dungeon swords. It’s possible, but still random, to get it in the Mystic Forge.
