I must admit that I have not spent much time in active guilds for several reasons, but my biggest one is the need to rely on 3rd party services for proper guild management and organization. I don’t want to register on websites or use external apps to do things that the game itself should support.

One problem is that aside from Message of the day there is no way to convey messages to the whole guild, including the members that aren’t logged on, and members that can’t change the message of the day, have no means at all.

There is no place for leaders and officers to write (permanent) information like guild rules, schedule, philosophy or organize events.

There is no way to tell offline members “this is who I am”, “this is what I want to do” or “need help with X”.

I have given these issues a lot of thought and come up with a few suggestions that might alleviate these problems with lack of ingame guild support.

Add a guild tab with one or multiple editable textboxes/fields

Give every member an editable textbox that can be viewed and accessed from the guild rooster tab, where they can write information like: “on vacation, back in a week”,
“will not play for some time due to personal problems”, “contact me for help with dungeons” or “will craft weapons for free!!!”.

Create a customizable countdown timer for guilds to keep track of the events they organize, when to meet up for a world boss or maybe even for discussions and planning.

Maybe add automated messages for guild chat (big risk of spam and abuse though).

Most important though, is that Guilds should be able to have all communication and organizing ingame.

Please add your own suggestions and constructive criticism.

There should be an in-game guild message board for people to post topics and replies. Guild message simply isn’t enough for most info to get across to the member base.
