Since the begining of this game’s release I have been an avid player but a staunch critic. Like most who felt the game did not come remotely close to the "manifesto"’s objectives (primarily power creep/vertical progression) a lot has changed in the nearly 2 years the game has been out.

Having taken 2 long breaks during this game’s existence, a 6 month followed shortly by the more recent 8 month departure, I missed a lot of the changes as they happened. Having returned I am somewhat lost, but as I find the changes that have taken place they have all been, overall, a huge improvement over the original launch and the first few months of the game’s growing pains.

While in many ways the game still doesn’t met my preferences, I have to give the development team, art team, and all those who work on this game the kudos they deserve.

Well done.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

I agree, while their still many things that need work over all it is a well made game. Their have been times I’ve tried many other games, yet I still came back to GW. The enjoyment I have had in the GW, I have not had in any other.

I also agree that the guys are working very hard and are obviously very talented. It’s good sometimes to say these things in an otherwise sea of troll comments and negativity.

I agree that they have come a long way, I sometimes venture off to other games only find myself spoiled by all the things Anet has done.

Things I would like to see more of are all the minor changes that I feel make a big day-by-day difference. Or even that they just touch up easy fixes that they said they would change but have not touched yet. Those would help because I wait for them eagerly then many months go by and it can be a real disappointment.

My only other major request is that they really improve the combat. By this I mean adding new weapons and weapon skills/traits, and the like. This is a very important feature for me which is why it would disappoint me if they neglect it any longer.

Not really complaining, but it *feels like they can make a good game great, and a great game awesome if they just make minor, easy fixes, rather than merely big updates and new map content.

This has been my take since playing after an extended hiatus. The game is better and more promising than it’s ever been. It remains to be seen whether that will or even could continue, but as of right now, I think they’re on a hot streak.
